WoW isn't launching since 11.2.0.62438

The game isn’t launching since 11.2.0.62438 went live. some clarifications:
1 - The game has been scan and repaired several times since the problem came up
2 - The game has been reinstalled at least 4 times on different HDD, SSD, M.2 drives
3 - Updated Windows and Graphics Card Drives
4 - Tried using the “-d3d11” Direct X trick
5 - Granted Permission on the Firewall and Anti Virus to Wow.exe and all Battle.net Files
6 - Turned Off the Antivus and Firewall
7 - Uninstalled Anti Virus
8 - Openned a ticket and got a response with several suggestions (None of them worked) from Blizzard and tried them all wich included:
a) Restart PC and Modem
b) Check Firewall and Anti Virus config
c) Turn off “Background Apps”
d) ipconfig “/release” “renew” “flushdns”
e) Uninstall and Reinstall the Game
f) Use wired connection to Internet instead of Wi-fi
9 - After clic on the “Play” Button, it looks like the game is about to start up, but then it does nothing, on the process manager it pops an instance of “Wow.exe” everytime i clic the “Play” button.
10) Everytime i run the “Scan and Repair” it downloads a 68.18 MB update, it installs it and nothing is fixed, but if i run the “Scan and Repair” again it does all the same again
10) The “Pre-release content downloaded” under the “Version 11.2.0.62438” message is always there, no matter how many times i try to upgrade, or scan and repair.
11) These days after the problem poped up, i installed the “Classic Pandaria WoW” and its wirking fine, but the “retail WoW” is still not opening
12) Been playing Starcrat 2 and its running fine
13) Been Playing other games and everything runs smooth, only the Wow 11.2.0.62438 is the problem
14) Running Windows 10 with all updates

Which Anti-Virus?

Make sure you are adding all sister processes, the battle.net.exe and wow.exe to permissions.

There are posts active for Sophos, Avast and Norton, the first 2 seem to be the primary cause of the client not starting.

i wont ask for a refund but i want to play soon. Norton Anti Virus here
Granted full access to all the processes, Wow.exe, Battle.net, Battle net agents… still not working

I had an issue where battlenet says I have the wrong version of wow. I wound up running wow directly from the wow.exe file and everything worked fine. Have you tried running directly from wow.exe?

Ive added all wow and battlenet exe’s to the allow lists of both webroot secure anywhere complete and windows firewall and nothing is working. WOW is literally broken.

I am having the same problem, did everything battle.net said to do and still nothing. I am so frustrated.

I am having the same issue but just started today. What I found works is deleting the wow launcher exe then opening up battle net. Battle net will update the game. Game will then launch. But seems like I’m going to have to do that every time as it gave me the same issue when I went to play later. Hoping to find a long-term solution but no luck so far.

Update. This did not work a 3rd time. I do have Sophos so tried adding both battlenet exe files, wow launcher exe, and wow.exe from retail folder as exemptions. This did work. I originally did just the first 3 exe files and wasn’t working. But once I added the retail folder exe file it worked. Haven’t experimented to see what combo of exe files is needed.

Also happening to me, and tried all of the above.

Hey guys,

I am having a similar issue but I am stuck on the “logging in to game server.” I found a weird work around that lets me play Retail but I still cannot play MoP. Maybe this will help someone out.

The way I have to log in is very unusual. I have to log into an alt account and load in to my Warband screen. Then I need to quit out and log in to my main. If I do not do it in that order, I end up in the infinite “logging in to game server” bug.

For reference to my thread:

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who is having this problem. I also tried what the support team in my ticket suggested, but nothing worked. I am really hoping this gets fixed because I want to play again

run battlenet exe’s and wow exe’s as admin with windows 8 compatibility. also before you click play, click the cogwheel and game settings, then hit reset in-game options to insure you can get in on first go. Apparently this patch update isnt configured for DirectX12. as you will see in the game settings when you get in you will only see option for DirectX 11 and auto select.

Having the same exact issue. After 11.2 I have to spend 10-20 minutes to launch the game. They broke something and they need to address it.

I did all that, and My Alienware 18 Area 51
Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX 24-Core 15 gen, My
Graphics Card is a
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5090 24 GB GDDR7 It has 64GB, 2x32GB, DDR5, with
12TB (3x 4TB) Gen4 SSD. They said I didnt have the reqments to play WoW war witnin. I got this for my birthday last month. When I try to transmog the sceen goes green and flicker , or when I am in Epic PvP battle ground with 40 my sceen goes black in the middle of battle. I took my laptop in to be sceen they said nothing wrong with it

I am having the same problem. It appears that there are numerous people this has happened to and the GM are saying that the issue is with us. I do find it very strange that every time I do the scan a repair function, there is a new download/patch. I try to launch WOW and it goes nowhere. I do another scan/patch and there is a download/patch. Once again, nothing.

I told the GM there this started to happen with the patch from last week and I got no acknowledgement from it, almost as if I did not know what I was talking about.
