As a casual player I find Dragonflight to be very difficult.
My class has a lot more buttons to press than previous expansions, I feel like the raids have gotten more annoying in terms of mechanics and LFG has become insanely elitist as less and less people play so it’s populated by a more try hard player base.
I am a 48 year old father with kids and a job, and I simply don’t have the time anymore to wait on other players to invite me to groups and even when I start a group I rarely find people willing to play.
It feels like WoW is just catered to a dying eSports scene than to the Casual player base that made this game popular in the first place.

The game has always been harder than what people imagine it to be. Ok so the biggest issues I have with your reasons of the game being too difficult are “lfg has become elitist” and “wait on other players to invite me to groups.”
These arguments don’t work for WoW because there are elitist “try hards” in every single game ever made and you should not be waiting for anybody to invite you, you should be running your own keys.
As for raiding, dude just que for LFR do your best and get out. You dont have to pay any attention to those randoms, you just do your thing and leave when over. If people press you, you can leave and do another lfr. It’s not really an issue, until you make it an issue. If you really think LFR is a problem join your guilds runs. They usually are nicer, teach you stuff, and deal with your deaths a lot better.

Whenever people use this argument, I always want to ask “are you new?” WoW has always catered to the dungeon runners and raid runners. I don’t know when people thought that they didn’t. In Classic name me a way to have best gear without Raiding?

As someone with a job and has raided with other adults with jobs and kids, one suggestion. Join a guild that fits your schedule and availability.
LFG groups help those that help themselves, can’t fault groups for wanting geared and experienced players for their farm groups.

Ever since Blizzard remove the dislike button, people have been using the report button instead. Blizzard should just give the dislike button back, remove the bury functionality tied to dislikes and more importantly, actually punish people for abusing the report function just because they don’t like a person or what they said.

My advice is try not to play more than one character if you care about doing mythic+, raiding, or pvp and don’t have time. Or do one character in each at most. That way, you will get the most out of that character, always play with decent gear, get practice and pick up tips as you go.
Also, get into macros a little. Try to use help/harm macros on buttons that do similar things against friendlies or enemies and it can reduce your keybind requirements significantly.
For example, on my holy priests, I do
#showtooltip
/cast [harm] Smite; Flash Heal
And that turns two buttons into one. You can edit the macro even further if you want to do mouseover macros which I recommend for healing.
As for the raid mechanics, just practice in LFR. After a few weeks of doing that you will be more than ready for normal and maybe even heroic.

When causals leave, you’re left with elitist folks. They use the flag button as a dislike button, they can’t really stand any post that goes against their philosophy .
Good thing the moderators restore all my posts, some aren’t as lucky however.

Oh, ok. I really don’t pay too much attention to stuff like that and couldn’t name any of the usual suspects when it comes to trolling/spam. I stand by what i said though, regardless of who the person is and what they are saying, as a community, i don’t think we should be using the report function as a pseudo dislike button.

I played WoW from the week it launched until Cata, took a 13 year break and came back for Dragonflight With that being said I don’t understand how a new player could possibly play this game, even with my prior experience killing upto Sindragosa, i still really struggle sometimes with just how complex the game has gotten.
