If gear is all it takes to be good at pvp why are pvprs always going on and on about how much more skill it takes than pve?
But it’s not.
Carries are no guarantee you will get loot you want/need.
PTW is used in gaming with the meaning “Pay to Win” to refer to games that allow players to purchase items or abilities (e.g., more powerful weapons, additional health points) that give them an advantage in the game, either over other players or [NPCs (Non-Player Characters)]
You sure about that?
They will have the best gear in the game. They will have an achievement for clearing the hardest content in the game. They will have the KSM achievement. They will have the KSM mount. They will have the “prestigious” mythic raid mount. Every single thing these “highly skilled players” are obtaining and brag about, you can pay for that. With real money. Have everything the highest end raiders have.
Pay. To. Win.
That’s THE definition
It’s not a problem for Blizzard. Why do you think they allow carries and sells? What do you think the real reason is for them putting raider . io into the default interface? People around here have a hard time putting 2 and 2 together
Then wouldn’t that be equivalent to super high end lootboxes? Another obvious pay to win mechanic?
Definition is to pay real life money to acquire “whatever” that you could not otherwise without paying.
I can get every carry in the game without money. So that alone debunks it.
Yea, that sounds like p2w for players too bad enough to actually do the content themselves
There’s no official definition of p2w, as you can see a few posts above this one there are other views of what makes something p2w which is why the argument is meaningless. Wow is 100% p2w, it’s also 100% not, both answers are right depending on the persons belief
Which IS pay to win.
PvPers have been fighting the same pillar since BC and they still haven’t figured it out.
Except you can only get that stuff by paying people who earned it legitimately to carry you through it.
WoW’s a pretty garbage P2W game if whales can’t buy CE or KSM before dedicated players can earn it. Also the hallmark of P2W games is definitely the premium currency being freely and easily earned in-game lmao.
No, THE definition is paying real money for items unobtainable through normal gameplay that give players a clear advantage over others.
… how did you even get “lootbox pay to win” out of gear RNG in a raid?
As I said earlier: you can’t win WoW. You can pay to skip into some gear, which doesn’t get you much of anywhere, especially when it’s replaced in a patch.
Who cares those people are playing how they want too. What are they winning? Gear? Mounts? Achievements?
How much do those things mean to you if you buy them? Lol maybe you play for different reasons and have fun and treasure what you earn. Others don’t care so who cares. If they pay for everything they have then they enter hard content you think they will have fun being dead every couple of pulls? Lol just let them be and enjoy knowing your own skills and time spent have got you what you have the game.
No, its p2suck
Cuz you suck and have to buy stuff everyone can just obtain themself
it’s exactly like the second poster said. its not pay to win, sure it pay and i can have the best gear in the game, but this game still requires some skill… which people who pay for carries and gear don’t have and never will. Send them out to PVP and see how far they get or send them on a non carrying raid and see how fast they get booted. So no win imo.
The mental gymnastics of the wow defense force is honestly mind blowing. They’ll say anything to justify having pay to win in their game.
Go ahead and make an UH dk, buy all the gear to get the same stuff as me
I’ll still beat you in every form of content
Congratulations, you won nothing cuz you still suck
Everyone claiming wow is p2w is confusing it with pay for convenience.
It takes no mental gymnastics to look up the definition of a word. I am truly sorry that is above your capability.
