There are some people who do this, but hardly enough to make the game ‘dead’. Also… hard to feel like that’s a problem when the game’s creator encourages it lol
Hear ye, hear ye. Repent you sinners for the end is nigh! Hear ye, hear ye. Give up thy worldy possessions for judgement hath come! Hear ye, hear ye. Embrace the coming calamity for none shall survive!
Why would you know about another community’s streamers if you’re not in the community?
Even being in the WoW community I only know of asmongold because of how big he is.
Literally the same as WoW.
kek!!! My side!!!
Funny how every other day someone needs to jump out and jab FFXIV.
Both games are fine, it’s okay to like both.
If anything competition for wow is good.
They can’t do w/e and expect permanent subs.
9.1 is taking way too long. My guild is dormant and taking a break in FF just for a new scene. No need to jab either game. Content creators making their first time trying vid definitely has its impact.
The wow community over here taking blows at the game like they were attacked by the game creator meanwhile the overall FFXIV community towards the wow community is like:
I don’t even know what’s worse at this point the large amount of FFXIV posts on the forums for world of warcraft or the large amount of posts filled with copium trying to convince everyone FFXIV is a bad game lol.
And then there are the “so called RPers” who literally log into FFXIV daily just to loiter in Ul’dah, striking various poses for 18 hours at a time.
Look, I don’t dispute that FFXIV is definitely the better overall game than live WoW. But so’s, like, 1991’s SNES version of Sim City. I mean… the competition isn’t exactly stiff at the moment.
I don’t want to exchange WoW’s old, tired experience for FFXIV’s nearly-as-old, tired experience. I want a quality product that’s actually new. And, unfortunately, Ashes of Creation is still at least a year away.
Nice gaslighting.
FF14 is never talked about until someone starts a thread gushing about how its better or has more players based on statistics that don’t hold up to any scrutiny.
These are your fellow wow players starting these threads by the way, not FFXIV vets that came to laugh at you. You have to have a subscription just to post here so yea it’s still pretty damn weird lol.
Bro, I got my vaccines and I got improved 5G connection on my new phone. Get on my level.
No one playing FFXIV is jealous of WoW.
Funny how that is now wow also
Eh. It’s basically all MMOs (that I’ve played) to be honest.
It’s why these conversations are silly. The populations fluctuate as the games release new content and probably always will.
Not to mention the amount of people that - gasp - play and maintain multiple MMO subscriptions!
But I suppose that’s a foreign concept to anyone that is still bargaining to use a parent’s credit card.
Classic is the breadwinner but blizzards combines the numbers. To the unknowing it gives the appearance that retail isn’t dead when it truly is.
Right? I like WoW, ESO, and GW2 all three. Shocker, I know. Some folks on these forums act like it is a foreign concept to like a variety of games.
The funny thing about ffxiv is, it is dead probably 70% of the time. People come back, do the story quests, do some of the content and then cancel their account til the next patch.
The operative part being “people come back.” And they come back because they really enjoyed what they had last time and they want more of it, while bringing their friends with them. Hence the reason why the game is more popular than ever.
Compared to WoW where fewer and fewer people come back every time. And when they do come back it is under the vain hope that this time can’t possibly be worse than last time right? Right…?
And… that’s fine? The game director encourages it. Why should he design the game in a way that artificially extends your engagement?
Lol, You full of salt OP.
I love how the Yoshida’s Witnesses are now putting hands in pockets and pretending they didn’t spam the forums to stir this up first, lmao. Is this and “it gets better after the first expansion” really the only way you can sell FFXIV? Did spamming Twitter with a copypasta not work?
As someone who plays both games: FFXIV doesn’t need all the secondhand embarrassment of a cultish, creepy fanbase. Let it stand on its own merits and live up to the “great community” it supposedly has.
