WoW is immersive, addictive, beautiful and DESTRUCTIVE. omg

What HAPPENED to the open world content?

Why are we being FORCED to spend more time in PVE PVP instances.

Many beautiful ZONES, everything is DEAD.

World of WAR craft, is a HUGE world where PEOPLE can go out, explore, play TOGETHER, quest fight against opposite faction. It was the WORLD in wow that made it EVERYTHING that is today. How can this be FORGOTTEN?

Why is open world CONTENT being ignored like this in a MMO?

We should NOT BE spending all day inside a battleground or a DUNGEON.

Something is SERIOUSLY wrong, PROMOTE, GIVE people more things to do in OPEN WORLD. The WORLD should feel crowded ALL the time, it SHOULD feel like real life but in a virtual world.

This is like WATCHING I am LEGEND movie, when we are the ONLY sole survivor in a big world.

When i FLY on my flying mount, I WANT to see LIFE down there, it DOES not feel like a world ANYMORE.

I want to DESTROY my virtual-delete character because there is NO world left anymore except MYTHICS and RATED, is this a world where we should be living in?

Blizzard can’t force people to do things they don’t want to do is the reason imo.

Most people I feel like to queue up with friends, hang in Discord, and quickly get into some dungeon crawling content these days. Open world is mainly only appealing for solo play, questing up, doing some dailies (which most people find mind numbingly boring) etc. Can Blizzard do something to make the open world more appealing? Well, perhaps. I’d say having mobs and quests scale up would be a step in that direction, but again, many people don’t want to feel the need to group up 24/7 just to knock out some quests and dailies.

PVP’ers need to just stop fighting for Open World PVP in this game. Nobody really likes it, the only time people find it enjoyable is when they can group up with their 4 buddies and harass and outnumber less geared players. That’s why world PVP is dead, because it’s just not appealing except for a certain niche of players who’d likely find a better home in something like Elden Ring where it’s all about going out and cheesing weaker players.

HAPPENED FORCED PVE PVP ZONES DEAD WAR HUGE PEOPLE TOGETHER WORLD EVERYTHING FORGOTTEN CONTENT (MMO?*) NOT BE DUNGEON SERIOUSLY PROMOT GIVE OPEN WORLD WORLD ALL SHOULD WATCHING LEGEND ONLY DESTROY NO MYTHICS RATED

Is it code?

*unsure if MMO is purposely capitalized by the OP for his secret code or if it’s just an acronym here.

Did you play BFA?
You never turned on warmode did you? This is NOT about world pvp only,

It is about open world over all, it is like this BECAUSE blizzard intentionally made it this WAY if they give a reason for people to be in open WORLD, that is where people WILL BE.

The world was dead as early as vanilla when people realized battlegrounds were more honor per hour than world pvp and pve-ers never had a reason to be outside once lvl 60.

It’s always been meh.
Ion admitted they need to work better on their open world stuff…

WoW has unfortunately never embraced open world possibilities.

I agree op the real world is boring cause blizz.

I played all of BFA. I remember groups of 40+ Horde / Alliance players just running across zones, mowing down any unfortunate leveling or smaller groups of players in their way. Then if they came across an actual group of equal players, everyone just disbands after the first wipe or even before then. It was pretty fun but at the same time, shows that open world PVP is only about overpowering the opposition, not competitive play. Also okay, if you want people to be in the open world what incentive would you give them that’d make them WANT to be there? You know, make them want to go from zone to zone that doesn’t already exist?

We already have assaults which spur people to go to old zones, dailies, as well as little questlines like the Undercity / Lordaeron one that just came out to get people out into the open world. So what more do you want?

That is WHY you join a guild for warmode too,

Dont YOU do that for Mythics? Rated?

Why is World PVP any different?

There are HUNDREDS if not thousands of World PVP guilds as WELL.

There are MANY easily accessible guilds COMMUNITIES on both factions for PEOPLE to join.

That’s why I said it’s for a certain niche group of players in my original post.

If there are hundreds if not thousands of world PVP guilds and communities, then you guys keep to yourselves and go do your skirmishes as planned events in old zones if you want. But don’t try to drag the rest of the playerbase forcibly into it so you can get off on building your groups just to mow down smaller groups of players who want to get their open world content out of the way. Some just want to play with friends and dungeon. If they want to go throw themselves out into the competitive open world, they’ll join the fraction of players that enjoy it too by turning War Mode on. As it stands, world pvp is dead cause people don’t like it. Simple as that.

You think RBG is packed?

Its dead, YOU actually think majority of the people LIKE RBGS?

XD

This game is DOMINATED by casual player, they LIVE in open world but are FORCED to stay inside dungeons or instances.

It’s fun to read the posts out loud. I sound completely unhinged.

Based off what? If an open world player enjoys staying in the open world, they simply won’t queue for dungeons or instances. They’ll do their dailies, hunt their rares, and go explore or grind rep and whatever else it is they do. As we speak I’m in the old world leveling up my fishing in Legion zones. Nobody is “forced” to go to instances, unless their primary concern is upping their item level to the best it can be. Which if they’re primarily an open world player, there’s really no reason to do that as rep rewards give more than sufficient gear to survive.

For open world PVP’ers? I can see what you’re saying. There really isn’t much one can do if they want to remain competitive in open world PVP without going into PVP instances. I’d say the solution to this would be for warmode, creating more open world PVP dailies / reps that would allow PVP’ers to upgrade their open world PVP gear sufficiently to compete with instance based players. So there’s a solution for that one Blizzard could try.

There are Millions, thousands, Hundreds of PLAYERS playing WoW, and on each server.

How many RBG groups do you see in LFG compared to BEFORE? 10? 15?

If you THINK people ENJOY doing wintergrasp offense 10 times a day, you are WRONG.

Its a HORRIBLE experience for an mmo.

Wpvp is still alive at least on some servers.

Had Horde intermittently attacking Stormwind on Moonguard all day. Loved it.

Sadly there wasnt enough of them in relation to the Stormwind population and they burn out quick and come back but its still so fun. Trying to find the attacker of the very specific location know as The Canals.

Id love to see more of what you are advocating for especially in wpvp but overall as well. With Warmode it seems like there is an opportunity to create unique experiences depending on whether its off or on. Not everyone agrees with the claims of wpvp not being something ppl want to do. I would expect that to be especially true on a server that focuses on RP and such.

Its even easier now to just opt out where with pvp specific servers you couldn’t transfer off and you couldnt turn it off if you disliked that aspect but liked other aspects of the server.

I dont have nearly enough creativity though to suggest what else could be implemented for open world content though. Clearly you arent only talking about pvp though and maybe more challenging wPVE content would help.

It doesn’t appear though that Blizzard has any interest in looking back at the older content but hopefully thats not true despite implications of stuff like Exiles Reach and BFA leveling etc and we just havent seen whats coming yet.

How can Wintergrasp be improved?

Well I’d say Nazjatar shows that Blizzard aren’t just ignoring ways to get people out and willingly engage in world PVP in a meaningful way. Nazjatar was filled with PVP dailies / reps that rewarded players for engaging in open world PVP. Now spreading that across the rest of the world? I feel the issue there is as said, only a small fraction of the playerbase cares for open world PVP. It takes work to balance and allocate resources to make it widespread across old zones. Why do that when majority of the playerbase don’t even engage and would rather do PVE content? It’s sort of a risk vs reward thing. If Blizzard takes the risk, will the players engage?
