The only game I see as an even remotely possible threat to WoW would be the LoL mmo that ghostcrawler is working on. And even then I won’t put much stock in that until after we hear more about the game.
Remember RIFT? The WoW killer with ads that said “You’re not on Azeroth anymore.”
survival sandbox games are fun for a few weeks. Thats why there are new ones coming out all the time. They don’t last long because eventually you have everything and they are boring as hell.
What a strange comment. I can list a ton of games I find more fun than WoW, the difference is they aren’t designed to played over the course of many years.
Have you not noticed that everything popular is trashed online?
A Star Wars movie comes out, I don’t even need to see it to know it will be bashed endlessly online. It truly does not matter how good something is, it will be trashed. Hate is super popular right now.
A more interesting subject is pondering why you feel a strong need to convince people that a game you spend your time on is terrible.
I thought Rift was a great game. A lot of people were playing it as a side game while waiting for SWToR. Which I also liked a lot. Both games I started not to like when their first expansion came out, but I thought the launch product of both were incredible. They just couldnt keep it going. Made too many changes to appease what they thought people wanted and people left in droves. Swotr went more and more solo play over time and I enjoy group play more.
