WoW is getting owned by Valheim

The only game I see as an even remotely possible threat to WoW would be the LoL mmo that ghostcrawler is working on. And even then I won’t put much stock in that until after we hear more about the game.

Remember RIFT? The WoW killer with ads that said “You’re not on Azeroth anymore.”

why not both

survival sandbox games are fun for a few weeks. Thats why there are new ones coming out all the time. They don’t last long because eventually you have everything and they are boring as hell.

If a game where everything is a giant block scares you don’t play anything M rated. You won’t be able to handle it.

And concept. And the story. And the mechanics. And literally everything about it.

It’s literally building blocks the game.

lol is a moba, not a mmo, you may as well compare fortnite to world of warcraft if you’re gonna go way off relatable genre.

What a strange comment. I can list a ton of games I find more fun than WoW, the difference is they aren’t designed to played over the course of many years.

Valheim is a survival game. So what’s your point?

Why do people bring that up without bringing up the next statement where that is within trend of previous expansions.

Have you not noticed that everything popular is trashed online?

A Star Wars movie comes out, I don’t even need to see it to know it will be bashed endlessly online. It truly does not matter how good something is, it will be trashed. Hate is super popular right now.

A more interesting subject is pondering why you feel a strong need to convince people that a game you spend your time on is terrible.

Same reason girls post pictures of themselves with better looking dudes soon after they find out their boyfriend has been boning their sister.

Sweet. Petty. Revenge.

…Congrats?

it’s more closely related to wow than lol is, as it at least has some rpg-like and mmo-like elements unlike lol which is just a dota-style game…

It’s always weird when people bring up single player games with an end as destroying MMORPGs.

I thought Rift was a great game. A lot of people were playing it as a side game while waiting for SWToR. Which I also liked a lot. Both games I started not to like when their first expansion came out, but I thought the launch product of both were incredible. They just couldnt keep it going. Made too many changes to appease what they thought people wanted and people left in droves. Swotr went more and more solo play over time and I enjoy group play more.

So how heavy was that goal post you just moved?

I mean again League kinda killed WoW’s mojo. When it release WoW had a big drop in population.

Lol so every good game that doesn’t outlast WoW (The Simpsons of MMOs) is bad, okay.

and who can forget about Wildstar, Black Desert Online, and so many other MMOs long forgotten or dead.

I miss when rift was really good.
