"WoW is dying!", Google Trends tells you otherwise

RIP

WoW is ded

Wish my boy, Gary, didn’t die in the past of an alternative universe like he did… … … it just felt so wrong. :sleepy:

That’s the purpose of Sharding (phasing). It allows quest items, herbs, mining nodes easy to get when the population congested together on one location. Sharding was a move on the right direction. I dont want to spend 10 to 30 min on tagging quest items/herbs/nodes.

If you want to see massive people on your location on Retail, this is what you do. Open a group on Dungeon Finder. Make sure people comes to your group. An example of this is on World Bosses. People flocks in especially on new Content. I was surprised back then when I opened a group for the Bee quest. I got 40-people just for doing petty stuff.

Yeah, it’s kinda silly. Having two separate games under one subscription will pretty much ensure that this game has even more longevity than it had before.

But WoW’s been dying since it started according to the internet.

Some people are really insecure about their feelings toward the game and need to justify it by feeling like everyone else is in the same boat. They’re like the Karens of the internet world. Rather than just walk away from an unpleasant situation, they want to watch the thing that offended them burn to the ground.

I’m just happy they’re expanding upon classic. I’m at least guaranteed another decade of entertainment with this fresh start.

His WoW trends search includes retail, Classic, and BC remastered combined vs. FFXIV. Some could call that massaging the data to produce a (desired) result. Asmongold’s take on this a couple of days ago was funnier and more entertaining with maybe even more accurate comparisons.

If you look up classic vs. Shadowlands, Classic is overtaking Shadowlands.

google trends is fun.

Who knew that the 15+ year old version of the game was what Blizzard needed to keep the numbers up and make WoW stay the top dog?

I will tell you who didn’t know. The President of Blizzard.

Here is a 5 year look. LOOK AT THE SPIKE for Classic versus retail. Look at the spike.

If we are using google trends metrics then RuneScape outperforms world of Warcraft

Weirdly enough FF14 destroys every other game on the market for google trend hits but looking up stuff on youtube has like 100k views for a raid guide on FF14 and there is only like 1 of them and then WoW raid guides has like 350k on on video, 250k on others and 100k on a few more

What the heck is going on here

Depends on your, uh . . . preferences? I just couldn’t resist.

I believe it’s called external validation, not too sure of that though, it’s been long, long, time since I dated a shrink. It is pretty common among younger people that have not yet grown mature enough to be secure in their own opinion. However, I did read a study a couple years ago that says that it is becoming more common in adults nowadays as people become less sure of themselves in a world that many feel is becoming more and more uncertain. In my own words: The collective sack of the US dropped off somewhere in the last 30 years and I didn’t get the memo.

Have a nice day! :innocent:

The Twilight's Hammer clan is LFM Doomsayers!

Remember: Cho'gall will have your heads! ALL OF THEM!

Doomsayers were already in WoW in vanilla alpha and they will still be here in 20 or 30 years…

It’s just like in the office when you speak about classic movies:

Me: Terminator (1984) is one of the best movie i've seen in my life! I play that movie in loop on my portable dvd player while working
Random coworker: that film is so old, i don't understand the robot guy, the story is total garbage, glad they did the genesis one to explain all the mess... by the way, you know about streaming?

Nobody follows rodeo. It is a sport for country hicks, which are a minority of Americans.

What is dead, may never die.

Just for the record, not a rodeo fan here.

because no one would ever search for ‘world of warcraft’ who might be looking to see how many other players hate it and want to quit?

Everytime someone says WoW is dying on the forums, I log into the game and do a few world quests, and what do I see? Tons of people, running around stealing mobs and quest objectives from each other and causing further frustration and aggravation.

Too many people in-game, for once I’d just love to be on my own personal quiet server so I can get stuff done on my own time.

This has got to be one of thee smoothest posts i’ve read from clark in awhile.
