Wow has no powerful shamans

In terms of wow magic classes there are mages, priests, warlocks and druids on god levels, except shamans. The class is so weak in lore that, unless you are world shaman thrall , will it be beaten by any other caster?

Yes.

Wait. Actually, there is one exception to the rule. The only other caster I’m aware of that regularly gets punked as much as shaman are priest.

Northshire Clerics were getting beat so bad that they had to become Paladins to do their job.

Troll priest are actually disliked by the Loa and they would rather have them become Shadow Hunters.

Velen’s greatest feat was having prophetic visions, and connection to the Light can be severed just like connection to the elements.

Priestesses of the Moon aren’t actually priest in the same sense as the class. They’re more like a hybrid of Balance druid and hunter.

Anduin, who is the priest representative of hearthstone, is a paladin all but in name.

Yeah, priests who are tied to the light are not that strong, but shadow priests are.

yea, the non magic classes have a point, shamans may be weak but they are not treated as fodder like the martial classes.

There have been a few incidents of powerful shamans. the dark shamans from siege of orgrimmar, drekthal in wod, i think the pale orcs in wod were all corrupted shamans, thrall before he got nerfed.

WoD seemed like a pretty good expansion for shamans.

eh he did fought and killed kiljaeden

ehhhhhhh from WC3 onwards maybe but the original priests of elune were more priests in that they did a lot of healing and blessings.

I believe this is the most powerful incarnation of a shaman (you know, besides cheat mode thrall) since they don’t ask for power to the elements, they just take it.

i think that is kinda the problem with shamans in general, they have to ask the spirits and they take forever to respond.

Druids also have to ask spirits, but their requests seem to get fast chained.

No. I did. Ya boi was busy casting smite on trash mobs with Illidan and Khadgar.[quote=“Grømmar-gallywix, post:4, topic:432023”]

That can be contested.

I’m unfamiliar with Nelf lore, but I thought that was the druids. Druids of the claw had rejuvenate and the moonwells heald nelf units.

Its a shame dark shamanism got gutted after soo, maybe a powerful dark shaman could go toe to toe with other op casters

talking about War of the Ancients priests of Elune, before druids were a thing…

well okay there was ONE druid in the world, Malfurion.

The priestess job was to hand out free healings and blessings to all.

dark shamans could, but you run into the same problem warlocks have.

Eventually that power will turn on you. with warlocks they get too greedy and the power consumes them, with dark shamans they might lose their grip on power for a moment and now have to deal with some very angry spirits.

warlocks are essentially mages (or shamans) who want the quick route to power, even if the means are reckless and dangerous.

Isn’t Magni a shaman now?

I believe he still is a warrior, he even uses thunderclap and stormbolt when doing the 8.3 introduction

Now that i think on it, didnt dark iron dwarf shamans summon those massive fire elemental giants in BoD?

I can’t judge them, after all who wouldn’t like to be able to seduce pit lords?

dont think any warlock has done that. Guldan had command over some, but that was through his position in the burning legion rather than using his power.

The only instance of a warlock summoning a powerful demon under his direct control i can think of was wilfred fizzelbang, who was then immediately killed by said demon.

Yes they have.

The PC Warlock, the leader of the Black Harvest, enslaved a pitlord during their duel with Karenthad.

was that the green fire quest? I do have some vague recollection of that.

Yes. Karenthad, in an attempt to show off, summoned a pitlord to attack us, but we enslaved it.

I will never forget that questline. It was the most satisfying single player experience I’ve had in wow. Who #oftheBlackHarvest here?
