WoW is hanging on startup.
Specifically, I click on the ‘Play’ button on battle.net launcher, the button then reads ‘Launching’. After a second the button returns to reading ‘Play’, but WoW does not quit.
Instead the WoW icon keeps bouncing in the Dock, and never stops. When I go to Force Quit to get WoW’s status it reads ‘WoW not responding’. Force Quitting leads to an error window popping up. You should find several reports from my machine.
I’ve checked my game files and they are fine.
I’ve also discovered I can ‘Play’ WoW more than once, with the same results every time.
Please help me resolve this.
I’m using an M1 Mac Mini, max memory and SSD, with Ventura.
I’m having the same issue. I logged off Thursday afternoon, came back an hour later and can’t launch the game. I’m using Monterey 12.6.1 on an Intel 27" iMac from August 2020 with SSD. Only thing I’ve tried so far is the “Scan and Repair” function which did not help. I’ll try again after Friday’s maintenance.
Edit: After Friday’s maintenance I’m now able to play WoW. No idea what was wrong, but I’m happy WoW is playable again.
You may find, as I am at this moment, that the fix will not install.
Belay that. It started installing after several attempts.
Aaaand, it’s hanging again. Sigh.

Same thing happens to me on occasion. I rebooted the machine, and still WOW froze on boot. I have noticed that I have to turn the Mac Firewall off to connect my laptop via screen sharing – this has only happened when I bought my Mac Studio, and I know third-party anti-virus software can cause issues with connections. On a whim, I turned off the Mac firewall (go to settings and search for firewall if you are unfamiliar with this) and restarted the machine. WOW booted fine. Of course, this could have been a coincidence and had nothing to do with the firewall. This problem seems random since I had the firewall on yesterday and the game booted up with no problem.
