Did you change the resolution? It should match your monitor native screen resolution. If your monitor native resolution is 2560x1440, you should be using that. Going less will make your screen looks blurry.

They might also check the resolution scaling slider. It could have been set under 100% somehow.

Nah, I made sure all resolution settings were correct 
What hardware specs, resolution etc? The last time I had grainy images it was playing with sharpening filters on vid drivers (both AMD and Nvidia have them).
