Ever since the patch, if I AFK for more than 5 minutes my WoW goes into a kind of screen saver mode where the screen goes black, never did this before the patch.
Same here ive tried everything got rid of addons ,reset game setttings , and all my drivers are updated and one other thing my font size wont stay the same size
So happy ive found that im not the only one i was going crazy
Oh thank god, I thought this was only happening to me. It is only when when I afk, it is not on any other game or application I run. Only in WoW, and only since Pre-Patch.
Ya its gotta be a patch issue never had this happen till now and like i said ive tried everything
Hopefully someone can figure out what obscure setting is causing this, itâs not breaking anything but it is rather annoying.
Happening to me as well, disabled all add-ons and didnât fix the issue, so itâs something with WoW.
I have the same issue. And have also tried everything to resolve it without success.
Starting to wonder if this is to do with the fact you canât proper fullscreen mode and can only windowed fullscreen now so itâs allowing your computer to go into actual screen saver now. Which if that is the case, the only fixes would be to bring back true fullscreen mode or Blizz find a way around it with coding.
Since it only started happening with the pre-patch, it means Blizz might have coded something with their windowed fullscreen mode wrong which is allowing Windows to go into screen saver mode.
That does make sense but wouldnt there be alot more people having this issue or do you think they just havent noticed ?
They possibly havenât noticed, then again who knows, some people also think Blizz can do no wrong so will tow the line itâs an add-on.
And some people post a technical issue with no technical data and are surprised at no response.
If you actually wanted to get some troubleshooting done, post a dxdiag.
Can confirm, screen saver comes up after 5 minutes (the time i have set).
Maybe WoW finally joined modern software, allowing monitors to sleep when you have them set to do so. If Iâm AFK, I donât need to see the WoW screen. Iâm super pleased by this change.
I guess a toggle could be added for âkeep screen awake,â if Windows 11 allows that.
I am not very tech savvy, I donât really follow what you are saying. If I have my screen saver set to 1 hour, why is my screen going black when I have only been afk for 5 min?
I tried to afk while I had tabbed out to another screen, youtube or something, and the screen dose not go to black, so its only when the game screen is up.
Is this screen saver? When I check display option, both screen off and sleep are set to an hour.
Oh, possibly. I have my timer at 2mins, and WoW used to keep the screen awake, which I hated. Now it goes to sleep in the 2mins I have set.
