Since I started visiting and posting and reading in the GD Forum 30 days ago. I have experienced many things. Principally entertainment, and interesting discussion of topics and some posters are very funny. I have noticed that this forum has a lot of people like me who frequent it.

My question to every one is: What is it about this particular forum that draws you to it? And keeps you coming back to it every day? How long have you been visiting and does it serve as a good socializing place in the sense that some of you have developed friendships? Also do you prefer to post topics or read topics or both. Are you drawn by the information, drama or humor? And anything else that you would like to add.

It is a trainwreck, I can’t look away.

Every time I think to myself “that is the craziest thing I heard” wow players take it as a challenge and prove me wrong.

Feels like 50 years.

HAHAHAHAHA no, I never even talk about wow IRL because I’m too ashamed to be associated with this community.

The beauty of forums is at one time they were the Twitter of social media. By which I mean a horrible cesspool of unending human torment, vanity and evil.

Now forums are the last vestiges of semi-intelligent discussion left in our culture.

It’s a delight that we’ve advanced by simply staying put while the rest of our world sinks into Morlock-style barbarism.

Ok let me rephrase it this way then,

There’s at least 4 different iterations of your name on the forums so far and they seam to swap every week.

And we had trolling with level 55 dks in the last month impersonating others so you may be you but who are the other yous?

You know what I mean?

Meeting others who play WoW and chit chatting about WoW and stuff and things.

Honestly, I like helping people. But I also like the posts that make me laugh. And I’ve made some friends here who have transitioned from being just forum friends to people I talk to regularly in discord and stuff.

Since early Legion. During Legion season 1 when priests went through a major rework and people didn’t know what to make of the spec anymore, I knew my favorite spec was something I wanted to keep playing so I came here in the hopes of finding help with learning it. And I found it, thankfully. And sure, it serves well enough with finding people I jive with. There’s people I’d love to hang out with and talk to more often like Bluster and Jalen. They’re awesome people.

Both is fine with me. I’ve made topics and responded to many.

…have you taken a look around at the rest of the forums? noticed how dead it is? :laughing:

I imagine most folks lurk this board because it’s actually semi-active

No where near as active as say, reddit, but compared to the rest of the forums it at least has some signs of life

I come to the GDF for polite conversation where gracious people observe social etiquette and comport themselves in a civilized manner as ladies and gentlemen. GDF is the last bastion of civility.

I only look at it while bored at work…which is like the whole time I’m at work. Otherwise I don’t look at it

There’s a lot of cool people here. Sometimes they get smothered by a tsunami of annoyed posters, but the people who just want to chill, talk about their hobby, and make each other laugh is why i come back.
