I hope so too. I was considering upgrading to shadowlands on my US account and buying more gametime for rp both sides of the pond with friends when it runs out in a few weeks, since i’ve had fun doing it, along with leading my EU guild and planning to get back into content and doing M+ but with this happening i physically can’t do any of it which, sucks, in a word.
Shadowlands was fine for me - no problems loading or playing. OTOH problems with patches - like the latest update a single day after the content release - are common enough that I’ve come to think of them as a to-be-expected “patch wars” phase. Blizz patches, causes prblems so then OS / GPU makers patch, then Blizz patches to match other changes in those patches … it evens out eventually. For obvious reasons to do with player-base fixing the Mac client lags behind equivalent fixes for the Windows client.
EDIT:
Came to this thread first in case there was already a solution. I’ve now filed a ticket including the spx file & screenshots as well as description.
fingers crossed.
I’ve updated to 10.14.6 and I seem to be in the clear now. I did 3 BGs and had no problems. Before, I couldn’t make it a minute before it crashed. So, I think Bliz needs to update their minimum system requirements for mac. Still not sure why it all worked before. Whether it was the patch or shadowlands, I’m not sure. But upgrading to Mojave on mac seems to have solved the issue. Thank you.
i managed to solve it by updating my OS too, or at least it seems to be solved? fingers crossed!
Okay, we’ve got two reports that this was fixed by an OS update. Kesnne, do you remember what OS you were on before you had this issue? If there’s some similarity and we get a bunch of reports of this we can see if QA can tweak something to stop the crashes, but it’d just be a work around. The ultimate fix for most players would be the driver updates that come with an OS update.
I really had no idea that driver updates came with OS updates, seems like they would be separate lol. Kesnne mentioned that they were running the same version of High Sierra as me. I’ve had no crashes and I feel fairly confident that the issue has been solved. Thanks all for your help
I updated to OS High Sierra version 10.13.6, deleted all of my addons, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and I am still having the same problem. I was really hoping the maintenance this morning would have solved this issue so I could complete the Maw Invasion today!
Game continues to say it has an update if that is helpful at all.
Allitharis,
It seems that 10.13.6 is actually the problem version. These players updated to 10.14.6. If you want to get a fix for the issue, we recommend this for now.
