WoW folder and Addons gone

So I was installing the latest patch and noticed that healbot wasn’t working so I extracted the files and put them in the Addons folder along with the whole Healbot folder and made a jumbled mess of my Addons to where Healbot wasn’t working properly.

So I deleted all the contents of my WoW folder, except for the actual game file and the launcher.

I think I may have accidentally deleted important WoW files and now have to download the whole game again (about 52GB).

I’m at about halfway through the download and the game is now at Optimal (so it’s playable) but I still can’t find my Interface and other WoW folders and the AddOns option is missing from the game.

I have this folder called “_retail” though and I’m not sure I’ve seen it before in my WoW folder and have a feeling it might be interfering with my other WoW files?

How do I get them back? The Interface and Addons files and whatever other important files I accidentally deleted?

I know I messed up. :persevere:I was just trying to get Healbot working. :disappointed_relieved:

Is Healbot enabled in the addons list on the character screen?

8.1 has moved to a folder structure whereby the live client and PTR client will exist within a single “World of Warcraft” folder, with live residing in “_retail”. If you don’t install the test client, you’ll only ever have _retail.

Your retail client addons previously found in World of Warcraft/Interface are now located in World of Warcraft/_retail/Interface

It sounds like he deleted _retail so probably lost everything, addons, settings, the works. :\

reinstall will get game back but you are at square one redownloading and installing and setting up your UI

I just finished re-downloading the entire game and still can’t find the Interface, WTF or Cache folders.

I also logged into the game, opened the in-game map as someone else suggested in another thread, made sure the WoW launcher folder is in the Application folder but the game still isn’t re-creating those folders.:no_mouth:

I’m still not sure what to do. :worried:

Where are you looking? If you’re only looking top level, they don’t go there anymore
