when ever I play wow with my sound on I constantly hear a ai or something saying fatality over and over. Anyone know a fix.
Sounds like an addon issue and not a bug. Try restting your UI.
If the âFatalityâ sound effect is high-pitched and has a vaguely English accent, itâs probably the BugSack addon catching an error in another addon. (The sound effect comes from the videogame âWormsâ. Itâs an English earthworm announcing the death of another earthworm on the battlefield, a la âMortal Combatâ.)
Anyway, if thatâs the case, you could do as Mairek describes, which would definitely stop the sound effect because it removes all addons.
But if you want to run with addons, youâll have to figure out which addon is generating the error and update, replace, fix, or remove it.
Removing BugSack isnât a good answer unless itâs the addon generating the error (rather than simply reporting another addonâs error). Without BugSack, addon errors will just pop up on-screen preventing you from doing anything until you clear them, and if itâs a recurring error that would be a recurring popup blocking your UI at the worst possible moment.
And no, Blizzard cannot fix your addons.
Thanks for the background on that sound effect! I had this same issue at one point and figured out it came from the bug sack addon, as well, after much initial confusion and annoyance. For OPâs reference, you can disable the sound effect in the addon settings. I just click the addon icon if the sack is red indicating an error so I can investigate which addon is causing the issues.
Thank you, this one has been driving me crazy off and on for a while now
What was your fix?
You just go into the addon options and there is a âMuteâ checkbox
Bugsack itself was erroring out for me yesterday, preventing opening the configuration page. I had to update it, because the 11.x addon API changes.
With all the addons broken by the expack pre-patch, youâre going to hear that sound effect a lot unless you turn it off.
