Wow .exe missing

the title says it. Mine looks like paper. the icon is gone, can not load game, nothing happens…
Advice?

Run launcher for Battle.net
Menu… At top for World of warcraft.
Is the icon there?

Not sure what you are pointing at.
please explain more… i do not see what you are talking about

I can see it near the last played is this what you are talking about?
I can load classic from “that” exe file just fine, retail… it looks like paper

Run Battle.net Lancher.

When the application opens.

At the top… Do you have the World of Warcraft Icon there?
If you do… Click on the Icon for world of warcraft.
If you do not.

In the Menu …
Search for Blizzard games… Click that.
The program should find the game.

The directory…

/world of warcraft\_retail_\wow.exe

The spot where you launch classic has a arrow button. Click that to reval the retail button…play.

Also in menu for Battle.net has a button to put a desktop icon.

Hey there,

If the icon is showing up as a blank piece of paper this can mean that the shortcut is broken or the original file doesn’t exist. You should delete the shortcut that shows up as white paper and make a new one.

Look in the folder location where World of Warcraft is installed to see if wow.exe exists. By default it is:
C:\Program Files(x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Wow.exe

If Wow.exe does not exist there, run the Scan and Repair in the Battle.net app so it will redownload Wow.exe

If Wow.exe does exist there, you can just have Battle.net create a new shortcut for your desktop. Next to the Play button click Options (the cog wheel) then click Create Desktop Shortcut

Mine is a white file ( again looking like paper ) and when clicked it does not load anything…

Hi Jambrix!
I am currently running the scan and repair, ( seems like it is taking a very long time to do so) yes it looks like paper, nothing happens, works fine on classic ( which I do not play ) and fine on my kids computer, only mine having this issue.
that is in the location you mention above
My hoping is the scar/repair will make a new one…
is this what you mean by " make a new one"
I should say this happened last night but yesterday was fine…
Thanks for getting back to me!

You could click on the Beta for Battle.net and let it set the defaults again.
Then if it fixes the issue…removes the bad link.
Then switch back to normal Battle.net
To see if the program fixed the issue.
Oh you are welcome…

Just make sure you do not have 2 ( World of Warcraft directorys on top of each other)
World of Warcraft\World of Warcraft
That is bad … Only one.
