One day someone will explain how Blizzard “pushes” esports into WoW. RWF isn’t even a Blizzard event.
RWF isn’t an esport.
Blizzard esports aren’t on Twitch.
it is full esport , you have orgs competing against each other .
That doesn’t make it an esport lol.
why do you have to argue with me every time
We have Echo vs Team Liquid , 2 esport organisation …
Because you generally have no clue what you are talking about.
Ok?
its not organized by blizzard
it’s not a esport until blizzard awards prizes
Why do you have to be wrong every time?
If anything they’ve got to looking at the lost revenue go by.
I think the logical divergence is:
Is it WoW as an esport we’re talking about or Blizzard RUN esports?
For the former, sure. I love Echo as a group, Roger and Scripe are a lot of fun to listen to - got to know them from their FFXIV streams so I’ve been following the RWF race and cheering them on when I have a chance, it’s good fun!
As for the latter, I don’t know enough to comment on Blizz’s intentions etc re: esports within their business model.
You don’t like Team Liquid ?
I have heard FF14 players don’t like Maximum ( raid leader of Liquid ) because he cheated in FF14 , did not go blind into a FF14 raid , idk what was the drama but i find it funny
I can’t be bothered with Esports but my partner adores them and the AWC.
He only watches me play WoW in passing, he prefers his catboy sim, so spent a lot of time yesterday quizzing me on lego effects and what was going on.
They enjoyed it a bunch still, which is good, and I’m sure he’ll be watching the whole event.
I don’t think Blizzard is a necessary component for the competition to be an esport
it is when raids are exclusive to world of warcraft
you cant raid in a app or tournament realm because there’s nothing
150k is nothing. There’s a streamer who shall not be named who gets that making lists about favorite soda and burger places.
e-sport
noun
plural noun: esports
“millions of people enjoy watching e-sports”
Nope I’m team Method.
The same philosophy that promotes and facilitates the race to world first as engaging and fun along with other other speed run type records is the same philosophy that promotes and facilitates eSports as a whole.
the common denominator being that it drives high level competition for a select few.
Calling it an esport is only untrue in a semantics kind of way.
It’s not an esport because it’s not on it’s own servers, balanced, requires doing things outside of the actual content for the event, has no ruleset, and isn’t organized by an organization built for exactly that.
“Semantics” lol.
