Why does this dang error keep coming up all time when trying to switch characters …it just started again today…we had it few days ago…its like every 3 to 5 days this error keeps showing up for a few hours then it disappears…its a royal pita when switching characters for sure.
Its not my user interface or game files as I don’t do a dang thing and it disappears after a few hours or the next day…so the heck is causing this error all the dang time.
from what i can find about that error it is usually caused by a problem with game files. even though it only happens every few days, the first thing to try is a scan and repair https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7655 and then a UI reset https://battle.net/support/en/article/7549
See I am not going to do that …I have done that before and it fixes nothing the error is still there …like I said this error comes up and last for few hours normally and than disappears…why is that happening for it to just be there a few hours then its gone…that shows its not the user side but the game side in my eyes.
The same happens to me. And maybe that why there is a day long maintenance on the 18th.
I don’t really know that much about the error, just that scan and repair and ui reset tend to be the first steps, and doing a full reinstall would be next. I’ve mostly read that advice for when the error happens consistently not when it happens sporadically, I don’t know if that changes anything.
A blue or other might stop by with advice, but otherwise you could submit a ticket with the issue and see what they recommend so you’re guaranteed a response. Blue responses aren’t guaranteed here and I don’t think this error is very common so players might not have much advice outside of what I’ve suggested.
