I hope there’s more about Warcraft the franchise, than just WoW.
WoW already has it’s anniversary stuff.
They’ve already leaked the first two i listed, probably be about all we get

A video that chronicles WoW and WC’s history, from 1994’s Orcs and Humans to the present day incarnation of the game, WoW: TWW.
It could go in-depth behind the scenes that previous documentaries didn’t before. It could go about different trivial events that went on WC1’s conception and development, and then WoW’s conception and development too.
Some that was put together in 15 minutes, cost 100s of millions of dollars.
And wont work, much like their game.

Which is pretty much the problem.
Why is it called Direct? Is it a product we buy or a patch?
It’s an event, like Nintendo Direct.
It’s literally now or never for player housing. They can not reasonably expect the audience of year 1-20 to be the audience from 20-40, so a “singular event level” announcement is warranted. They’re the industry leader missing a core feature. If it’s not housing they weren’t watching the response to the months of pirate flags on twitter, and they admitted they were wrong to blind hype without having something bigger than “just plunderstorm.”
And I’m not predicting housing, I’m just as willing to accept “never.” But those are the options.
Just an announcement. If they don’t do it now, hang up hope.
From a end game player perspective, housing serves no purpose.
and if they make it involved in end game its just a chore to up keep.
Garrisons failed for a reason.
They also will implement it in a way that it will be absolutely terrible and prob time gate important features. Careful what you ask for from this current version of blizzard.
So maybe it’s “never.” But it’s now or never.
The sheer amount of doomer takes and pessimism in this thread is highly entertaining.
