WoW Devs makin the game easier to solve a problem that's not there

With every new update release, latest seasonal release, and upcoming news regarding the new expansion… I have to wonder.

Why is WoW limiting it’s playable hours by just gifting 50% of content to players?
I understand, after returning from 2 seasons away, it’s a welcomed discovery: You can cheat your way to basically Heroic difficulty!
Meanwhile, anyone that starts the beginning of the season with the ambition to play content and achieve ranks… is continuously undercut as their time/effort spent is cheat coded via an event release just 1 week later.

WoW has effectively made it so you can AFK the entire season and still achieve competitive achievements like AOTC and KSM.
This really drains any motivation I had to push on the early side of seasons, might as well just quit and renew for 2 weeks and then quit for 3 months.
