If I try to open a YouTube video my client freezes then disconnects, vice versa if I reconnect to wow the YouTube video will stop and once it reconnects my game freezes and disconnects.
I don’t have this issue with Netflix or Twitch running in the background and it doesn’t happen with any other games only wow
Hey, Kaldron! Have you checked if hardware acceleration is enabled for the browser with Chrome? If so, does the disconnection occur with this disabled?
If you have any network prioritization software like Netcut, Smartbyte, Internet Download Manager, make sure these are fully uninstalled and retest. Otherwise, I’d suspect similar settings like QoS, WMM, UPnP possibly causing issues or bandwidth limitations mentioned already.
@Caterpepi
I have no bandwidth limitations, but if there is any prioritization software it wouldn’t be intentional. So it has to be something that is only interfering with wow / YouTube since it doesn’t happen with any other game. Do you have any suggestions for how I could check to see if a program is causing this?
It looks like Caterpepi’s post was marked as a solution. Do you still need help with this? Did you figure out what the Quality of Service program was? Let us know if you still need help.
Sorry for the late post, I haven’t been on in a few days, I think it was just the hardware acceleration as Caterpepi mentioned, have had no issues since then, Thank you !
