Right after the update to Catalina, joining any character in WoW causes the computer to crash.

Happening to me too
Also experiencing system crashes, macOS 10.15… right before character login completes, a loud popping sound emits from the Mac and it hard crashes.

I gave up. Do not go for Catalina at all.
Don’t run Catalina unless you want to do a fresh OS install on a clean partition. Not an update, no time machine restores. Did that last night re-installing on a fresh partition off a flash drive. Everything is great except I still need to use a utility for switching to the discrete card. No bugs, no slowdowns, improved performance. But I started with a clean slate. no leftover 32 bit cruft, no leftover legacy anything.

I believe unchecking “Automatic Graphic switching” will utilize the main video card. This has also helped resolve some launching issues after upgrading to 10.15.

It didn’t help. WoW is crashing the entire computer on Catalina. I’ll stay as long as possible with Mojave.
