No. It still happens. The only thing Blizzard suggested is that I should talk to my Internet Provider because they saw some congestion at one hop of MTR. Even though I never see ‘red’ numbers for my FPS, World/Home server, etc. when this is happening. Even though if I just do a straight ping to the same IP’s as the MTR, I never see drops or huge MS numbers. It happened last night in the middle of a Torghast run. I think I had been logged in for about 1.5 hrs at that time, and in the run maybe 45 minutes.
I figured it out, well someone else did but I tried it and havn’t crashed once. If you have downloaded Exorsus Raid Tools remove it. Someone said that it was freeze locking the computer with our GPU drivers. I thought I would give it a go, and sure enough it has so far fixed it.
I’ve been having the same issue as well ever since pre-patch. My video card is less than a year old, plenty of RAM, etc (did all the proper troubleshooting) but still giving me this issue daily - sometimes up to 5-6 times a day. I don’t encounter this issue with any other game, even ones that demand more power than WoW. It’s driving me nuts. I’ve removed all add ons and re-installed too. It would also happen randomly - I would log into the game doing absolutely nothing but standing around and it would freeze up. I could also be running a dungeon and it would happen so it has nothing to do with anything I’m actually doing in game.
I also have 16gb ram and this happens to me several times a week as well and has been for months and months since SL launched. It says it’s not enough memory. This is wrong. I used memtest86 to test my RAM to see if it was bad and it passed fine after I ran it the full 4 passes. I do not think the computer is the problem. It’s an Origin Neuron gaming computer, built in 2018. It works fine otherwise. This happens running WoW and Chrome concurrently.
Turn off hardware acceleration in Chrome. Google Chrome annihilates memory.
thanks I will try that
I’ve been having this issue as well lately with the release of BCC. I know it isn’t a RAM or GPU issue as this is ONLY happening with BCC and not retail or any other game I have on my rig. I’m running a 2080 TI, i9, 64 gigs of RAM, brand new motherboard with more than a terabyte of SSD space available. I’m also experienced with building my own PC’s and can tell you this is at least imo, an isolated problem with this expansion. Not everyone may be experiencing this problem but it is definitely happening as you can clearly see others are having the same issue.
same here. 980ti but constant crashs in just wow
Having the same issue. Info as follows:
3070 GPU, 8700k, 32GB ram. My CPU, GPU and RAM are all OCd. No, this isn’t why this is happening.
The game freezes but I can still hear sounds and I can continue clicking and it will interact with the game even though the graphics are frozen. This is easily seen posting auctions. I can keep clicking “post” after the freeze happens.
Event viewer has no information. I have updated all drivers, tried some roll backs on the GPU drivers, nothing has helped. I’m doing the repair function in the battle.net app now but I’m not holding my breathe.
has anyone resolved this for good? What did you do to fix it?
I am having the exact same problem. The game will randomly lock up my whole computer and then force a restart. I have been keeping my system monitor tools open, and nothing is abnormal (no overheating, ram is fine 32gb). I am running a GTX 1070 witch seems to be the ongoing theme. Looked though the logs like someone above said, and all it shows is an unexpected reboot. Happened 3x in 5 minutes, and sometimes it will go days.
It does it on loading screens, while questing, or just standing AFK in a city. Its not something I can make happen.
When it first started happening, it would reset my WTF settings, and I would have to re install my addons. This doesn’t happen anymore, but now wow will update every time it crashes.
Did anyone figure out a solution? This started plaguing me the last week or so with wotlkc and it’s awful…same symptoms as most mention, my screen blacks out but audio works, whole system crashes. Nothing clear in event logs, and dump file is erroring when created. Literally only happens when I’m playing WoW classic version, no other games.
All it shows is the hard restart. Windows is not seeing WoW crash, just that a restart was incited and it does not know for what.
Same here, I have AMD Radeon RX 6800, 128 GIG Ram. No overheating issues at all, everything up to date.
having similar issues with a 7900XTX. Seems like WoW has been more stable since the Windows 11 update, but it’s hard to tell if the issue has gone away or is just dormant.
I don’t think so. I have done everything they have said to do, have done my own trouble shooting, and nothing works. This is a blizzard/WoW problem. Its the only one of my games that do this. I wish they would at least acknowledge this.
I have 128 gig of ram, and this stuff still happening to me. If at 16 gigs you say it is impossible, then what is it with 128 gig?
