As bizzare as it sounds. WoW hardcrashed my PC while I was playing WoW classic, I reboot my system and my entire battle.net library is uninstalled.
Make sure ur logged into the right account just incase.
I am. I have chat windows open with my friends.
Games just dont get auto uninstalled have you tried clicking the shortcuts on the desktop.
Yup they just take me right back to the launcher like they always do.
What happens when you tell the Launcher to scan for games?
Click the Blizzard icon in top left corner, choose SETTINGS and then DOWNLOADS.
In that same area, you can also specify where your Blizzard games are located. For me on Windows 11, my default is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\
Also, have you checked to see if the games are still physically installed on the computer? You can use the BROWSE button next to that default location listed.
They should still be there, this little hiccup can happen after a crash. It is just the Launcher getting out of sync with the installations.
If the installations are in fact still on the computer but the Launcher is still not finding them, then let INSTALL start on a game and it should finish quickly once the Launcher verifies the game files are still on the computer.
Have you tried the Scan & Repair function?
On the launcher, you’ll see that gear button the the right of the “Play”.
Hit the “Scan and Repair” option and let it run. See if that does the trick.
[EDIT] I’ll also add it probably wouldn’t hurt to do the “Check for Updates” too, just to cover your bases.
I did locate and reinstall WoW Classic (the game that crashed) rather quickly, but it has not done the same with Starcraft 2 which is the next game I’ve tried it with.
I’ve tried to use Scan for games and it doesn’t turn up anything.
That is something wholly different from the Scan & Repair tool. It could find something else that has glitched out or whatever is causing this. It’s not something we’ve seen come through here with any regularity. Nothing I’ve seen brought here before, at least.
EDIT: Nvm, it WAS greyed out now it’s not.
Think they were just replying to my suggestion to have the Launcher scan for games to see it if could acknowledge their existence and get back in sync. I suggested it because I have had to do this before when the Launcher “loses” my games temporarily.
Bad crashes can corrupt data.
Hardware issues (e.g. bad drive sectors) can also lead to crashes.
After your scan and repair I’d suggest a disk check.
- Search for “CMD”; run “Command Prompt”
- Type: chkdsk /f
Follow instructions.
