WoW competitive PvP is....alot

I would like to add I achieve my PvP goals when I play and im not saying I struggle learning or understanding the game but I don’t like it, It’s not fun or intuitive especially for anyone new coming into PvP. It really does need to change or the PvP community will get smaller and smaller which is already is based on the MMR issues facing this season.

All in all I want anyone reading this to know I perform well in the game, I have my addons/ 20+ keybinds/ Videos watched/ Time spent on Skillcapped learning how to play my class (which it changes all the time) /I understand all of my situational talents and when and how to use them correctly. My point is does that sound fun to have to go through? I came back after a break and sure it took a bit but I got back into it BUT I have thousands of hours on the game.

I could not legitimately recommend WoW PvP to anyone that hasn’t played it before. The bloat of this game is overwhelming and many of us don’t realize how overwhelming it is because you have 1000+ hours in the game and/or treat it like a job.

I could not be convinced that these issues don’t exist and this is coming from someone with many seasons of PvP played and getting my goals accomplished.

After coming back recently and really sitting down and piecing it all together I realized the reality of the situation and how bloated PvP is in this game. Ignoring this issue doesn’t help in the long run at all.

Really well said, but if you simplify the game and remove the “bloat” it’s not really WoW anymore. Might as well become a different game and I think that’s the disconnect between a lot of different takes on the matter.

Ironically the design that alienates a lot of new players is the design that keeps a lot of veterans here. But keeping veterans at the expense of not attracting new players hurts veterans in the long run

Yeah exactly. My job already eats more and more away at my free time with each year and promotion. Last thing i want to do is come home to a job #2 that doesn’t even pay me to play

Yeah every complex problem can be broken down into a bunch of simpler smaller ones.

If you have never played a game before and you are instantly at the 70th level of course its going to be information overload. But if you slowly got there over a period of 2-3 weeks and learning about your class/gaining muscle memory along the way then it wouldnt be overwhelming anymore.

That can go the other way as well though.
If you want to make the argument that too much simplification makes it not WoW because it’s not true to the original design, you have to acknowledge that what we have now is also not true to the original design.

Lowkey, this is why I tell my friends to just level a new toons rather than boost.

Might want to play plunderstorm (or classic or sod or wrath) instead if you want less abilities.

Except Classic doesn’t have less abilities.
