When opening the app, it shows a screen requiring a download. The download never completes. I’ve tried turning off wifi and using the phone connection, deleting and redownloading from the app store, and a phone restart. Still hangs at about 80% complete. Eventually the message “Unable to load data from the network” shows up.
I was just coming on here to report the same thing - how am I supposed to use Battle.net if they discontinue the only authenticator that works, and I can’t update or download the WoW companion app? Which, ‘hilariously’ has a 2.6 star rating on the app store… a bit odd to force ALL users to swap from the perfectly functional authenticator app which was the only thing we really needed - to a bloated, slow old app that barely works even when you CAN log in… and now you can’t even update it or finish downloading it! And if I can’t use the authenticator, then I can’t log into anything that utilizes battle.net… which would mean I should just… stop paying them money, I guess? A bit lose/lose, since then players can’t do anything that requires their account, and Blizz loses money.
I too have tried all routes - on and off wi-fi, uninstall/reinstall, clearing the cache, restarting my phone in-between the uninstall/reinstall and clearing cache…nothing works. #SmallIndieCompany problems
here it is, January 2024 – and this bug still exists… unbelievable. I am having the same problem… download of assets stops dead with the ghostly " Unable to load data from the network" error in the background… I too, have done everything recommended… I guess I can take solace in the fact that I’m not the only one with the ongoing issue.
Just got this message now.
As I’ve said in other post, if one has an older version of the app saved on their computer, it is best to start install this app. But once you install, it will continue with it’s update instead of staring from a new app as there could be conflicts. it is also recommended that you downloads these types of apps via a landline for a more secure connection.
