WoW Classic with No GPU?

Quick question: Can you play WoW Classic on a laptop with no dedicated graphics card?

I am getting a laptop that has no GPU, it uses the Intel chipset. I want to play WoW Classic on it, but I don’t know if you can. Even on the lowest graphical settings, will it still run on at least 30 FPS?

I am not gonna raid. Just leveling and playing casually. Thanks!

thats what I did on my old laptop. I never had issues with it on lowest graphics. Worst case scenario you might need to play in windowed mode.

Okay, thank you!!!

Yeah, I played on my laptop like that while I was on a trip. It’s not the best, in my opinion, but it’s certainly playable.

Don’t be fooled, Intel integrated is typically memed on, but people are so used to GPUs they don’t actually keep up with how far intel integrated as come in the past few years.

Obviously most gamers should opt for a dedicated GPU if possible, but if you lack any choice, the integrated intel chips are much more capable than you might think. You’re not gonna get 30-60 FPS in the latest games but they are definitely playable, and WoW classic is playable on a toaster.

Here’s Monster Hunter World running on Intels 630.

It doable on low settings but invest in a laptop cooler(fan) and ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones lol.

Actually, classic seemed fairly quiet on my old 2014 laptop on integrated graphics.

The only issue I had was sometimes it randomly started stutterring on character selection screen.

I think newer laptops even with integrated graphics will be incredibly smooth.

I played it on a 5 year old laptop with integrated graphics, and it was bought refurbished, so idk how old it actually was before that. Classic ran smooth and silky for me. As long as you go with the Classic settings and don’t turn them up beyond that, you’re good.

I played rocket league on an integrated i5-4570 after the gpu on my old rig died, and that’s an ancient processor when compared to today’s standard. I would be very surprised if any intel integrated made within the last 4-5 years has trouble running classic.

I’m surprised Blizzard hasn’t developed an APK version of classic for players looking to game from their tablet or android box.

My older gaming laptop has both integrated Intel graphics and a GTX1050, and it barely - if ever - switches over to the GTX1050 while I’m playing Classic.

It really depends on what graphics chipset the computer has but you should be able to play classic on just about anything made after 2012.

The min specs are:

OS: Windows® 7 64-bit (with latest Service Packs)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB or AMD Radeon HD 4850 512MB or
         Intel HD Graphics 4000
RAM: 2GB (4 GB for integrated graphics such as Intel HD Graphics series)
    Storage: 5GB available space
    Internet: Broadband internet connection
Input: Keyboard and mouse required. Other input devices are not supported.
    Resolution: 1024 x 768 minimum display resolution

OK so i play on an Acer laptop with a AMD 3200u (this is my mobile i know it can play classic and that’s all that matters PC) it can be played on a PC like this no prob you will still get about 70 FPS in raids low settings all tho i have re pasted the heat sink (because Acer put so much paste it waz insulating the chip and making it throttle bad, Acer too much isn’t a good thing LOL) and use a 3rd party program too unlock the chips power limits and GPU clocks but i would highly recommend a 3400U or an Intel equivalent but no Intel out there will touch the Igpu in AMD APU’s so its up to you hope this helps GL

a 3400u will run classic flawlessly prob even TBC and wrath classic when they come i don’t know how well my 3200u will hold out on that as its got a way smaller IGPU 3 CU’s versus 8CU’s that the 3400 has also the 3400 is a quad not a duo core

iv used an Intel based laptop with a 4000 series Pentium and it had a 610 Intel igpu and it sucked compared too the 3200U like hafe the FPS raids was in the 20 FPS range it was a crap gaming exp

i expect 120 FPS+ open world on a 3400U and over 70 FPS in raids low setting on it, battery life with one of these puppy’s is way better then any laptop with a dedicated GPU, i get 4 hours + with mine gaming yet a dedicated 1660ti in a laptop with a Intel I5 will die in 45 min

P.S. JOHNY SMASH

Just dont play for extended periods of time with the hot laptop sitting directly on your lap, unless you don’t plan on having kids in the near future.

I play Classic Wow with an integrated graphics card. Certain effects like smoke cause lag spikes but usually it is quite smooth on the lowest settings.
