Update:
It finally allowed a reconnect to the game server after a lengthy downtime (and 12 minutes after official end time of Stress Test).
One thing I did notice on the reconnect was that game settings which I had set the one time before that I successfully connected had all reset (I believe that they require a successful logout to save them?)
So - Keep trying to connect for a bit, it is possible it will be successful.

Everytime the error pops i cancelled and tried to create a character again to enter but i was unnable.
Seeing something different now. in realm selection, it is locked but I tried to join anyways. I am sitting in queue now. What is different about this is that I am in queue on the realm selection screen instead of the login screen.
And as I type, Character creation has appeared once more!
I mean, eh? The only people on that I know already have beta access. The rest of us (of my friends) are getting stuck on character creation. I’m not sayin’ anything is fishy here, but… well, maybe. A little. It’s just anecdotal, though.
I just tried to get on they are down again…
Started at 6 pm pst constant dc’s after 2 hours of trying i finally get to be able to pick server it was offline. Tried a few more times and im either getting server locked or offline-truly gutted took off work a few hours early just get the chance to test.
I’m going to be hearing that “Buuuuuuhhhhhhmmmmmm” from hitting the Accept button on the character screen in my sleep.
So you are actually logged into the game playing? Or are you stuck like the rest of us at the Character creation screen?

i see streamers on and they are with scores of other people so i have hopes i’ll get on.

Yeah. You succeeded in wasting thousands upon thousands of hours of cumulative time by screwing up as Blizzard can’t seem to avoid doing these days.
wow… locked in 5 second but no streamers who already have the beta can enter… but i cant even create a character… nice blizz…
Ok i’ve been trying for 2 hours, i’m done. character time out was the furthest I could get. hope i helped at least, but I feel like I wasted my time.
Cz people haven’t played… I know this isn’t a demo, but it’s like this test was a complete failure since we’ve been experiencing these issues and didn’t even get in-game for a minute to see how bad/good could be the results, even tho the data for this failure could work for them. But man they promised us something we didn’t get… literally millions of people were chosen for this test… feelsbad
@ Grizzd: was able to log back into the stress test server and see game play.
From the Character selection screens showed world server down for a couple minutes, but eventually was able to reconnect to it.

At least you can get in! I get ‘Realm Locked’
This is a stress test the weak will run away but the strong will make it keep on trying.

if you get realm locked be patient, eventually you get a countdown queue
