Wow classic should have the option of $4.99/month or included in base sub

lmao! That’s hilarious. Did you think up that funny by yourself? Cuz you must be joking to think Blizzard runs their operation on server towers. Much less second hand ones. Funny man!

Actually it would’ve hilarious if they kept the antique servers they had when I started in 2005. Lag all day and crash & burn every nite at honor update time. Like clockwork.

It’s not gonna be classic without severe crashes that lasts for 3 days (and we got free game time!) and loot lag scooting on your knees across the zone and raids falling through the world. They should give people the true classic experience!

But they’re gonna run it all on today’s tech. Kinda cheating the players out of the original gameplay (some times all I could do was go fish).

Not only is this true but some those players were only playing because it was free.

Nope. They offered Classic as a compromise to players versus shutting down free servers.

If you wanna play, need to pay.

but I thought these servers run for free in those magical “clouds”

What??!! How the hell did you come up with this crap? 99 bucks for an iPhone?

The subscription has cost the same amount since the game came out. Wether you like it or not, it was $15 then, and it’s $15 now. You paid $15 when there wasn’t any expansions, nothing has changed if you only play classic.

Nope classic exists to subsidize current WoW development and other Actiblizz products.

Not only that, but they may as well turn a profit on the people who were engaged in IP Piracy before hand. IMHO the way Blizzard Entertainment has offered a compromise was decent enough. There are of course ways I think it could of been done better, but that could be my personal ego talking as I don’t work for them. Point is, Blizzard probably did the best they could and are doing X or Y because they believe it’s best for the game.

It’s just more than a little sad that now we appear to have people who want to play but not pay. If you give them an inch… “the community” demands a mile.

It’s the same price that it was 14 years ago. So… yeah

Disagree. I think the current model is great. You pay one subscription fee and you can either play Classic WoW or Lobby WoW … or both; whatever your preference is.

suck it up buttercup… price was 14.99 at launch and is 14.99 now… Nostalgia should be worth that much.

I’m paying the same price I was when I started in BC. Classic is included in the same sub as retail. I’m not paying any more for classic than I was paying 12 years ago.

Exactly. They have to do weekly maintenance on the servers. That’s not “free”

Wrong. Nobody is paying full price. In 2004, the subscription fee was $14.95. Take a look at the Consumer Price Index inflation calculator. Adjusted for inflation, full price today is $20.08. We are ALL getting a 25% discount from the original list price.

Games, with the exception of collectables, don’t appreciate in value, they depreciate in value.

That’s a fair point, but subscription services generally expect market value. If you disagree, take a look at the history of your AT&T or Comcast bills. :grinning:

I really hate your generation.

Why compare wow to telecommunication services rather than other video games? Wow is extremely expensive relative to other games, which tends to depreciate in value as time goes by.

I personally don’t care , i will pay 15 bucks to try it and if i like it i’ll continue to pay 15 bucks and from a business pov they made the right choice i guess.

You’re not paying for any version of WoW. You’re paying for access to the servers. It says right there in the ToU.
