Honestly I was afraid I was seeing Classic though a rosy nostalgia filter… but… turns out it was exactly as fun as I remembered. I just loved it.
I went to Auberdine and got goosebumps all over. I missed that place so much. Then I took the boat from Auber to the NON flooded Menethil Harbor…
And the general chat was bustling with activity. I’ve never had so much fun and sense of community while talking to complete strangers. I’d say this little sneak peak was a resounding success.

beta started at 5PM est for me… if it wasn’t that I was watching asmondgold stream i wouldnt of have made it in time.

You should just stick with watching people play video games, you know? Live your whole life vicariously through others.
You don’t have to install regular WoW. I’m installing only Classic by selecting it from the dropdown menu. If regular WoW is already installed then some files are shared by Classic and the classic download is smaller, but for Classic by itself there’s just a bigger download and it still runs fine.
Since I have no interest in playing Retail I don’t see a reason to download 60 gig of Retail data against my bandwidth cap just so I can download 3 gigs instead of 5 gigs of Classic data. I’ll download only the latter and it’ll be fine.
