I’ve currently started a leveling challenge heavily based on a previous challenge I read about made in 2016. I’ve added some modifications and I’ve decided to call this challenge the The Solitary/ Schizoid run. The rules as followed:

  • Level to 60 By killing enemies and exploring only.
  • no quests (although I’m making an exception for class specific quests. E.G. hunter pet taming, shaman totems etc)
  • No parties or raid groups. Your character is like a hermit! Play it like one.
  • Gear and weaponry obtained through killing enemies or crafting, or getting another player to craft you things (getting other players to help you optional depending on how hermit-like you want to be).
  • no dungeons unless done solo
  • Do not go into inns though capital cities are fine.
  • Play on an RPPVP server and roleplay as a hermit (Optional).
  • No mailing to your other characters. Your other characters cannot mail things to you. Though you can send and receive mail from other people.
  • Do not use flightpaths.
  • Destroy your hearthstone (or if you want to keep it for emergency then keep it set to your starting location).

Sounds like fun, but I would probably need five years to finish. I wish I had time though!

Actually I know someone who did this.

He did no quest, no dungeon, no grouping, no nothing but grinding.
The result was impressive though.

It took 2 days of /played time to reach LvL 40. (rogue)
He looted, skinned and sold everything for gold at vendors.
He bought gears from the AH as he leveled.
and by the time he was Level 40, he had 200 gold.
Yep that’s it, 200 gold, LvL40, 2 days /played all from grinding.
Personally I think it will be too boring for me. I like to move around, do the quests, read the story, meet people and explore the world, so…

yes. I’m having a lot of fun with this so far but I’m also only level 7. So we’ll see how far I get until I get bored
