WoW Classic is approaching unplayable, if we aren't there already

Classic got me to come back to WoW and it has turned into an absolutely unplayable game. Botters everywhere farming herbs and honor. The herb respawn rate is an absolute joke. They’re based on low pops of original launch and here we are on single layer (another terrible idea) servers where it’s all but impossible to find anything to farm. Guilds are requiring flasks for BWL and it’s near impossible to farm for them. You’re going to keep losing players over your lack of action in keeping this game relevant and playable.

I understand that you’re going with the “no changes from original launch” and that just isn’t viable anymore, not that it ever was. Please fix your game. I have spent hundreds, if not thousands on WoW in my life and you’re destroying it. If you aren’t going to fix the obvious, at least follow your money grabbing ways and open faction transfers so the overpopulated horde can transfer and even the playing field and servers.

I’m pretty sure there’s actually more alliance players overall. At least there was last time I looked. The faction imbalance seems bad if you’re on a pvp server because the general alliance playerbase doesn’t want to pvp.

As far as herbs go, specifically BL, other than increasing the spawn time idk how you could fix it. Making BL soulbound just means the “people” farming it will just sell flasks instead. They really do need to crack down on bots though I agree with you there.

Weird. Seems pretty playable to me.

They could make BL have a random chance to drop in all high-level herbalism nodes. Sort of like Swiftthistle.

Just make it have like a %0.5-%1 chance to drop.

That way no one could control spawn points, you would just have to pick a lot of herbs to get one.

Not having flasks for the whole raid won’t keep you from stomping BWLs sh-t in.

Controlling spawn points to control the market was something guilds could do in vanilla if they wanted, now we just have more competition over the same resources.

If your guild controls them congrats, but if not oh well, you won’t fail because your missing them.

If your guild requires flasks to raid bwl maybe get a guild that doesn’t require it. Not saying they ain’t helpful but it’ll be doable without an entire 40man flasked up.

And the suppression room dont care about flasks…thats all team work baby, woot woot.

From a resource-perspective, yeah, layers would be great, but no realm has a queue for logging in, so layers aren’t needed.

Things like arcanite and black lotus are intended to be scarce. The game always did favor those who had the time to put in, and some folks really do play all day every day. Some players litterally spend all day in caves mining thorium, or in Dire Maul for stealth/jump runs. Those folks are probably holding onto a lot of what they’ve farmed up until the content launches.

The big issue will be the money. Mages can easily AoE farm in the world, or in ZF. I predict that those farming for mats will be making major bank because a lot of players have the cash to drop when the time comes. Inconvenient? Sure. Unplayable? Not really.

And bots are not farming honor… if anything, bots would be cash cows to anyone looking for honor through WPvP.

But the forums told me that layering already destroyed the economy and there’s 1000x more lotus than there should be?

By putting it on the alchemy supply vendor for 5g in unlimited quantities.

Transfer to a low pop server and it will feel more like Vanilla

I was able to play yesterday. Seems like there were a lot of other players also playing… /shrug.

I get what you’re saying about Black Lotus, and I wouldn’t mind if they tweaked the spawn rate to keep pace with population size… There are other ways to farm for money and then just buy the Black Lotuses. Or you could have a word with your guild leader and explain that you can’t afford to flask. As others have mentioned, you shouldn’t need a flask. I think other basic consumables like GFP/GSP pots, LIPs/FAPs, Arcane Elixirs, etc are more important and useful for BWL.

The herb market will ease up in a few weeks. Right now everyone is stockpiling for BWL, but in a few weeks the majority of raiding guilds will have it on farm and probably won’t be requiring everyone to flask, unless they are pushing for speed clears or something, in which case, you probably shouldn’t be in a speed clear guild if you don’t want to spend a ton of time and gold on consumables, because thar’s what it requires.

I’m going to use your word: Impossible.

Black Lotus is intended to be valuable, but the spawn rates are based on smaller vanilla servers, not 10,000 player classic servers. Even if people are getting every single black lotus spawn within seconds of it spawning there isn’t enough supply to meet demand which is driving prices sky high.

Personally I like the idea of having black lotus drop from regular herbs with a small drop % as it improves the node camping/bot issue as well, but just a flat increase on the spawn rates of existing black lotus nodes would be a big improvement.
If you really wanted you could even have the spawn rate scale with the online population of the server. Though that’s probably more work than Blizz would bother with.

Pssst, the servers don’t have 10,000 concurrent users anymore.

Pssst, they’re almost completely at Vanilla level populations now and the population is only going to continue to drop, which is the opposite of actual Vanilla.

Pssst, the game is already easy enough, not everyone needs to flask.

The game has been figured out. All the best items and spots are camped and crowded because again, it’s been figured out where to go for the all of the needed drops. I go over to Winterspring to kill furbolgs, there isn’t one alive and like 12+ people there all the time. All of those furbolg spots are camped. In Felwood, the Satyrs too, felcloth, Runes, all that, camped to hell. It will be like that until TBC, if it ever comes.

It’s not about the work they’d be required to do… It’s about having Classic, and not retail. Blizzard’s doing a great job making Classic feel as it should. It sounds like it’s not what you want to play, however (which is fine. Classic’s not for everyone!)

I’d be ok with that.

Lol I’d love to see what that does to the economy
