I’m trying to get in to create new characters in anticipation of the upcoming launch of Wow classic. Unfortunately after installing the game, I’m seeing nothing but “incompatible version” for all servers and thus I’m unable to even create a character. I’ve tried re-installing, and scan/repair, but nothing seems to resolve this issue. I’m guessing this could be due to launch scheduled for tomorrow, but I figured I would check here to be safe.
In the Blizzard Client there is a tab that has a manual update option, uninstall the Blizzard Client. (It’s small so won’t take long to reinstall and it won’t hurt to know that it it’s the latest version.) Download a new Blizzard Client from their server and find the tab that allows you to manually update, click to update then go to the bottom of that tab and set the maximum download to the maximum your internet connection can handle.
When the download is complete use the Blizzard Client to launch your new version of Warcraft Classic.
Trying this now, will let the thread know if this works.

Work? No work? You no take my candle?
Leaving classic installed and re-installing the app did resolve the issue. As soon as the app was installed freshly, it updated the existing classic install.
I tried responding earlier, but it wouldn’t allow me to respond so quickly. Thanks for the help!
Cool, glad I could help!
