How about instead of an RPPVP realm, an RPPVP layer?
Everquest used to have flags you could add to your character⊠if you type /RP your name would change purple and your level/class wouldnât show. It was easy to spot out people with the RP in the world.
But WoW could do even more with this⊠what if you could type /RP and it would put you on a specific layer reserved for RP players?
That might be a more realistic solution than creating more servers since it seems players tend to all gravitate together on one server. An RP pvp server would just end up getting majority non-RPers anyway.
How about instead of that experimental âideaâ we go with an RP-PvP realm since we already know that it works and works with such tremendous success that Grobbulus members from 2019 are begging for it in 2024?

This is a bad idea for the true WoW experience.
I think we need some clarification from the OP. Can we have a 40 man raid group in the world and not be layered away from eachother? What about multiple raid groups trying to kill a world boss? This all sounds like a headache making it more difficult to play with your friends.
There are also a lot of interactive big guilds out there that bring a lot of people together. How is this going to work?

I cannot tell you the number of times that my friends and I were blocked from playing together during Blood Moon Events in Phase 2 and 3 of SoD. Even though we were literally restricted to parties of 5, getting just 5 players on the same layer as one another proved to be all but impossible for weeks at a time while Blizzard was trying to fix things.
Now youâre telling me that players on Fresh Classic wonât be able to get on the same layers as their friends/guildies by design?
Thatâs hilarious. Both in terms of amusing and entertaining, but also just plain hilariously bad for the social aspect of the game. Good luck with that lmao.

Simple answer is because itâs not gonna happen. Didnât grobb just basically become the only classic server anyone played on, RP or not?
Might as well create an actual place for RPers instead of a place that starts out for RPers that never has majority RPers.

Yea absolutely not. One of the biggest appeals to Vanilla PvP (especially pre-BG) is the absolutely MASSIVE battles that spark across the world. Guilds like mine are looking forward to this fresh server BECAUSE of the multiple raid group battles that will happen. If we wanted systems like those in TWW, we would just go play that.

Canât wait to not be able to quest with friends, trade people, get my gear enchanted, or get on the same layer as my raid for a world boss and miss out on the loot cuz I have a âlayer cool downâ

No? Plenty of servers were active. Grobb was the best one though, thanks to being RP-PvP. So yeah, I think they should try and replicate that formula. RP servers are built diff.

What Feedback??? Layering on a WPvP server is literally one of the stupidest ideas from Blizzard⊠Do you really want us to go there for a ânewâ (again) experience? Then why sabotage it right from the beginning? This is a SOCIAL game!!! I donât want to invest the time leveling, farming, outfitting a newest L60 just so I CANT play with my friendsâŠ

I get where you are coming from. I actually played on Grobb myself. I just donât think nearly as many players will be joining this ride in 2024 as there were in 2019, so if they can fit everyone on one server, I donât think theyâll add another just for RPPVP.
Maybe itâs not a realistic idea anyway to be able to flag yourself as RP and get moved to an RP only layer, but itâs just an alternative idea because I just donât think a RPPVP server will happen⊠but I could be wrong. Iâm not against one, though I think Iâm ready to admit Iâm old and play on a PVE server.
