Well I’d be interested to hear an explanation from Blizz.
Were they holding back because some but not all data was “lost”?

When I played retail for a bit in dragonflight I thought the UI was pretty good. If that’s what they brought over here then I’m not too concerned.
It’s really simple.
Their entire corporate culture is built on lying to their customers.
Always has been, always will be.

the UI doesn’t look changed to me except the menu options
I think a lot of UI addons are just broken and messing with people 
disable them
Still wondering if this was premature because they were intending to sell clones/restores.

No, that is not it. And part of the problem with these forums is the flippant nature by which people like you who do not understand the full reasoning why we are playing wow classic disregard what your fellow players are saying entirely. These are changes that will cause many to go back to private servers. The unfortunate thing is that private servers offer a far better and more authentic classic experience than Blizzard is able to provide. Assuming these changes are just a simple patching error and everything goes back to normal in a few hours, all is well. If these changes are permanent, I’m gone man.

I may not be the smartest person in the world, but I know that sort of data didn’t get erased.
Aside from the fact I hate that term, you know those folks spouting the lies on their little video the other day are salaried.
As an aside: would you buy a used car from Kaivax?

Yes it is broken. Adding all these ui changes, from body types to the talent/spellbook changes, it doesn’t feel like classic anymore. The feel that classic has is gone. Please reverese these changes, Blizzard. The people don’t want it. And we will respond by unsubbing. Immediately.

Well from what I can tell, a lot of the data is gone and I only saw 2 of my older characters. No idea why they were the ones either.

I don’t care for it but it sort of ecapsulates the power that others have over frontline employees.

I too hope a lot of these unnecessary changes are undone, particularly the options that don’t have anything to do with the vanilla game being shovelled in from the copy-pasted retail menus.
A lot of these menus are now out of place, and weirding people out.
I will likely continue subscribing because I like Classic WoW, but I can tell many are ready to leave, and this is sad news because ClassicEra deserves better.
I wouldn’t blame anyone for choosing to switch to a p-server for a more authentic experience though.
Come on Blizzard, just show the Classic fans a bit of love for once.

It’s the sort of word used by people who look down on people who work hourly jobs.
You and I both know that’s not happening.
It’s easier when you just accept the fact that Blizz and its representatives lie to us all the time, especially when they don’t need to.
