WoW Classic Beta Update

Really odd that there’s no word on the end of beta event when it is announced in this post that there would be one. I don’t understand the thought process behind this… come on blizzard!

I have a question. For the next stress test coming up on July 25-26 is it going to allow continuing characters from the last stress test or is everyone starting all over again requiring everyone to make characters again.

I would imagine since they want to simulate a worldwide launch, and the US isn’t getting an early start, that all characters will be wiped and you have to start over.

Seems Blizzard has not provided a lot of information ahead of times about the stress tests.

This is not uncommon both for Blizzard and for almost every other gaming company.

Was a fun time testing. I loved this and would happily test even harder if the opportunity to test Classic TBC presents itself.

I love playing with all of the people on the Beta. It was an honor to test the Beta and contribute to making Classic the best version of itself.

As for what’s next, the final stress test is now coming up on July 25-26 (we’ve changed this date since we first announced it). During that global test, we will roll out our multi-region hardware in preparation for the worldwide release of WoW Classic. In addition to getting many more testers to play through the initial leveling experiences, it will be a test of the fixes and tweaks that we’ve made and are making to the game.

Any further word on whether people will need a sub for this test? While it made some sense for the earlier tests, to get the largest group of people involved globally, it makes sense to relax the restriction for this one event and hammer the servers with as many people from around the world as you can. A lot of people see the subscription requirement as a cash grab and will intentionally pass on the stress test, depriving you of possible numbers.

@Kaivax - Still hoping for earlier than “day of” information on this question. Also adding to it, since the test is on a Thursday/Friday, any chance you could just leave the stress test open and without character limit until Monday?

Bingo I have been unsubbed since last year and can’t wait for launch. I am not Subbing back to Stress Test. Sorry. There are so many players out that waiting for Classic that aren’t Subbed.

Maybe if you refund me for BFA which was a totally incomplete game at launch. I would feel better about Subbing early for a Stress Test.

While we’re still on track to launch WoW Classic on August 27, we need a bit more time before this final pre-launch worldwide test.

Someone from Russia has posted a blue post on EU forum that global test is August 08. It’s on the Wow Classic stress test post, you need to translate it to read it
