This sounds really easy and dull.

And 'Gutboy' isn't a dull name at all.
Cool info OP. Might want to consider adding 'Ironman' in the thread title, may make it a bit more noticeable to other people looking for this kind of info.
And i thought normal leveling was boring, you must have the patience of a saint.

It is a dull name, like OP's premise. Thank you for playing.
+1 to you for the patience it takes to do that particular Ironman.
15 minutes into it I would be like "screw this" and start killing stuff.

I have a level 37 goblin that has never left the starter zone. Cup on silvermoon
I think my druid I level soon will just be one that only does pet battles to 100.
Going to need a bunch of the bonus exp potions.

I like seeing people do stuff like this.. makes you rethink a lot of assumptions about what's fun, what's creative, and what's interesting.

I would Edit it to add Ironman to it but now sure how to Edit Thread title... Going to go look for info on that now, good suggestion!
I don't remember, are professions allowed in the Ironman challenge? Each of the Trade cities have a daily cooking and fishing quest.
02/19/2016 04:45 PMPosted by EidelweissSo I am trying the Ironman Pacifist challenge and was fairly surprised by how little there is in these forums about it. I thought I would start a current thread with some of the stuff I am finding helpful in case anyone else is looking and trying to find suggestions.
I am almost level 10 now and this is my third go in the last three days. First one was killed at level 4 by a lag that booted me out and when I re-logged something had killed me. Second one I did a quest that I thought was safe for the pacifist challenge and saw that it actually ended up registering I had killed something when I actually had not killed anything.
On my third try now and I am level 9 now.
Soo what I have learned so far, Valentines quests are great for getting started pre level 5, starting a night elf is useful as one of the early quests in dolanar is The Emerald Dreamcatcher and I just waited for someone else to kill the mobs and I ran in and grabbed it, this quest gave me a silver to buy professions early and to travel to Elwynn Forest to continue in an area I was relatively familiar with.
There are no quests I have found in starting areas that are do-able for the pacifist. they all start with killing quests. Goldshire is great as it has a few explore quests to do early on, (explore Janglode and Jasperlode mines) and the Maybelle - Tommy love story has three you can do before they ask you to kill anyone.
Eastvale Logging camp has the picking up wood quest and hunt for the missing guards quests.
Stormwind has a few run around quests, the wine store and tailor shop ones are great.
I also went to Dun Morough (Sp?) and was able to do 4 quests there at level 7, two at thelsamar that required picking things up off the ground. Two at Gol Bolar Quarry that were to pick up gems and to hand out Hearthstones to trapped miners, again when it was busy and others had already killed mobs.
So this is where I am at level 9 now hoping to be level 10 tonight. I have a quest to go to Westfall and elmores task which I often refuse on regular toons as it is just travelling across the world to talk to someone.... sounds like a perfect quest for this toon though.
I will update when I can with what I find along the way if this continues to be successful so that others who are doing this challenge may use some of what I have encountered and found to help them on the way =)
cause a guy allready did this reaching 100 just mining and herbing no killing mobs as a pandaren, hes still on the wandering isles, first person to reach max level pacafist, and first person to reach max level with no faction, also pacafist is boring...

Nah in small burst it's really relaxing just picking herbs, or mining. I do have a lot of copper though...a lot.

Cool for him, that is quite the acheivement, that would be mind numbingly boring I agree. However I am not only Mining and Herbing.... through doing this I am finding that there are actually a great deal of quests that can be done without killing anything.
It is actually challenging again to try to do it without allowing your toon to die... Warcraft with a potential of Game Over... I know already this is not for everybody and very few are even interested but for those who are they may appreciate my postings.
I have Done the Loremaster stuff, Only have a few Cata Zones to get the achieve, got my flying in Draenor and have a silly amount of faction rep ...I was looking for something new to try and I a liking this so far.

Doubleagent also did the quests so no, he was not a pacifist in the sense being discussed here. Also, the philosophy was different. He wasn't picking flowers because he was a pacifist- he was picking flowers because that was pretty much the only thing on the Wandering Isle that offered him experience after level 30 or so.
02/26/2016 06:40 PMPosted by GutboyThis sounds really easy and dull.
It might well be very dull. I doubt that it's particularly easy though because of the gear restrictions and the fact that one accidental kill ends the run.
02/27/2016 10:03 AMPosted by KnitI don't remember, are professions allowed in the Ironman challenge? Each of the Trade cities have a daily cooking and fishing quest.
The Pacifist challenge is the only one that allows professions, I trained the cooking and fishing but the quests did not show up upon training so I guess they are given at a certain level. Not sure if the XP for the two quests would be worth the time to level those professions now though... I would have to spend a lot of time fishing to level the cooking cause the other mats would require killing or hoping they would be on the AH.
Looking forward to level 20 to train Archaeology though... that was something I always enjoyed doing on my toons so will make this toon a little more fun.
I am surprised how entertaining this has been though, I am not hanging out in the low level zones, I am in zones my own level and just being very careful, forced to use strategy to do the quests, watching the paths of mobs to best avoid them etc....
Darkshore had nothing new today, was able to turn in the other two quests I picked up from Malfurion Stormrage last time I was here but follow up on both quests were kill quests so did some exploring and professions and crept into Ashenvale under stealth the whole time as they are 20-22 between the border of Ashenvale and Astranaar. No quests yet as I am too low level but the picking and mining seems to be pretty good there.
Hitting 18 I found still nothing for me in Ashenvale so headed back to Darkshore to check once more. In the southernmost camp there was a couple of quests to talk to one of the Furlbolg leaders and to steal something from the twilight camp. I spoke to the leader and got a quest to pick flowers. I chose to come back to this one though as they are surrounded by lots of level 18 mobs and no good way to navigate beween them now.
Lag in the game is terrible right now and I dont want to chance a lag death now that I have come this far so taking a break till later on.

Starting up today in Redridge again to check if there is anything I may have missed/ been too low to get then will head off to Loch Modan.
Redsridge still had nothing quest wise, opened up some more exploration XP and ran down to Darkshire to open flight path.
Back to Lock Modan.
Nothing new there with the exception of a quest at the bunker near the Dun Algaz tunnel, go through the tunnel and talk to the Dwarf on the other side to make sure all is well. Follow up to that is a killing quest and a quest to retreive 'The Stolen Ale' I am waiting to do that because again lots of mobs my level and no clear path at this time, will have to stealth and wait for a quester to kill some off...
Opened up Wetlands where there are a few quests at first camp Slabchisels Survey, 'Sedimentary my Dear" pick up dirt piles, other two there are killing quests at this level.
Bloodmyst Isle again,
Picked up 'Yseras Tears' 'What we Know' 'New-found Allies' 'Urgent Delivery' (mailed to me when I got there...) 'The Bloodcurse Legacy' 'Searching For Galen' All OK to do as Pacifist. Turned in 'What we Know and got "What we dont know' and 'Talk to the hand' both also safe for Pacifist. Turned in 'What we dont know' and got Vindicators rest. Heading to Azuremyst to turn in New-found Allies quickly. No follow up quest from that NPC but I see the NPC beside her at the Exodar docks has a grey one so I will have to remember to come back and get that one later.
Returned to Darkshore to complete 'The Bears Blessing' and 'Leave no tracks' first one follow up is a kill quest but the second has two follow ups that are not. 'Unearthed knowledge I have now but is in an area surrounded by level 19 Murlocks so will save for later when I am a higher level.
Moving on to Astranaar again at level 19.

No, but if the folks who set up the Ironman challenge also have a pacifist challenge, then maybe not because Herbalism and Mining are major sources of EXP for pacifist leveling. But if it's just your own personal challenge, do it the way you want, that's the whole point.
02/27/2016 10:50 AMPosted by OnÿxI am surprised how entertaining this has been though
Same, and I like that it's a different perspective and rather relaxing sometimes not having to kill everything in sight. However, those who think it's easy, try going a day without adding to your kill count, you'll be surprised how often you have to stop yourself.

The key to pacifist leveling is to take herbalism and mining and gather for xp.
You have to be able to escape from all mobs that attack you, since you cannot die and you cannot be killed.
Druids or rogues are the best way to go.
Tauren Druid for the herb racial and eventual herb in flight form is the best option.
