WoW causing black screen

Hello,

A few days ago, my WoW started slowly having FPS drops and then my screen goes black when playing. I have updated my drivers and lowered settings, and it still happens. Is there a way to remedy this? I have been playing a ton and never had any issues on high settings until 48 hours ago. Please help Blizz

Is your computer running hot at the time? And loud?

I’d take this to tech support but I’d try capping your FPS and ensuring your cooling apparatus are clean.

Same issue here. Black screen, fans shoot up like crazy until I do a hard reset.

Checked some other topics and downloaded HWMonitor, temps are low (hotspot gets to 57 at it’s highest while playing WoW.)

Only happens with WoW. Played a few other games and got my temps up, fans going, no issues.

Did you figure out a fix?

Black screen + fan spinup is usually a sign of a hardware crash, with the fan spinup being the tell tale sign. It can be triggered from a number of things ranging from an unstably configured/outdated BIOS to overheating to power supply issues to issues with Windows and/or drivers and so on.
