As the resident overly obsessed defender of night elves and draenei, both of whom have taken hits from the blood elves, though the latter more so, I can safely say this is a weird troll thread.
Was it a weirdly out of left field action by the writers? Why yes, yes it was. But that was most of BC, in all honesty. It was a janky attempt to push the Blood Elves to the Horde, but they did have every right to go after the nelves on their land, just like the nelves have the right to curbstomp anyone on their land without permission.

The Night Elves aren’t allowed that honor though. That’s not how Blizzard writes this story. Too many Horde fans particularly Sylvanas fans would’ve felt sad if the Night Elves actually got to crush Nathanos and his invading army in Darkshore.

The Blood Elves were allowed that honor only in their starting zone. It hasn’t happened again for the same reason as the draenei haven’t had to deal with Horde incursions: Blizzard is terrified of messing with the two starting zone sets because they’re basically smoke and mirrors. Updating them would be like playing Jenga after playing a drinking game where you take a drink every time Anduin looks sad or contemplative.

They had no problems tampering with 3 Night Elf themed zones. And besides they have scenarios that take place in both Quel’thalas and Exodor. It’s not that they are terrified of messing with the zones. They are terrified of upsetting Horde fans and particularly Sylvanas fans.

That’s not what I mean. The draenei and blood elf zones aren’t part of the same game world, that’s why you can’t fly in them and why you need to go into a loading screen. The entirety of the zones are all smoke and mirrors, which is why when the Exodar is attacked by the Legion you go in there via an instanced scenario and not just an updated/phased Exodar.
Eversong, Ghostlands, Azuremyst, and Bloodmyst are all technically in Outland, in terms of their location in the game world (not lore, of course). The blood elf zones especially are basically all illusions in terms of assets, if you could fly there you’d see all sorts of wacky things in order to make it look immersive. You can actually see parts of Silvermoon from Eye of the Storm, IIRC, via Farsight. That’s how hodgepodge the zones are.
I don’t begrudge the belves not getting hit, because of that.
