Wow....BGS ARE toxic...from your own team

Just thought Id try to maybe get ten more marks or whatever for another mog set.
Good god man…these kids start foaming at the mouth before we even got to the first flag.
I remembered real quick why I stopped running BGs.
Dont even have to worry about winning or losing. Your own team will make sure to make the entire thing miserable either way.
Whoever was healing was doing a REALLY great job. Kept my rump alive well enough. But someone is still insulting the healer for most of the BG.

God I need to find a single player game to play.

edit.
heh.
Yeah. I just checked and the main player who was screaming how horrible everyone else was literally dead last on DPS…and he was playing a Druid DPS.

yeahhhh

I refuse to do arena skirmishes or random non-epic bgs anymore. People have lost their damn minds. Epic bgs are much better because there’s so many people, the toxic lunatics can’t single out one player to blame for everything.

I’ve been in bgs where someone will start mouthing off before the match even starts. They’ll pick on one person to get the ball going, and other people join in so people don’t think they’re “bad” as well.

One time I was healing a Twin Peaks. I stayed with our flag carrier and went with him to our room. Some DH with 80k health starts ranting about how I was being outhealed by our rogue… while I was out of combat. Then the tank I was babysitting joins in and agrees that, yes, I was the worst healer ever and should delete my character.

So I left him alone in the flag room to be murdered.

Another time, in a brawl, the whole team piled on one player for not choosing the correct pvp talents. That’s why we lost, they said. Because one person had the “wrong” pvp talents. In a pug brawl.

Nobody wants the team to think they’re the problem, so the take preemptive measures to deflect onto someone else. I really, really hate this culture where everyone is on edge and defensive all the time, instead of working as a team and trying to have fun.

It’s all part of the experience. Overcoming the toxicity for victory!

Yeah, it can get pretty bad sometimes, but I still see losing and toxic matches as a way to learn how to overcome terrible situations and at the very least, still try to progress myself in skill.

Exactly what happened.
that two minute timer ended and we were running for the farm to grab the flag. Kid started running his mouth before we even got there and it didnt stop till the BG was over.
I ended up putting two players on ignore so I dont get grouped with them again.
Thats the worst ive ever seen it.
Normally its maybe one player and even then he’ll wait to blame our losing on someone. But this BG hadnt even got started when the chat box was getting filled with crap about healers sucking, worse team ever, etc.

I did find it hilarious that the one player who was railing on others got dead last on DPS and was playing a DPS class.
pretty funny.

you say it like it’s only bgs, in pve you will just get kicked if you arnt pulling your weight.

Put some effort in before joining and check out what talents you should run before wasting others time.

What are you talking about?
I was #4/15 on DPS and have run that BG 100 times.
This kid was railing before we even got started.

Good point, even if others are being toxic, you still won’t have to worry about getting kicked. Despite some of the negativity from other players, deep down inside they really want the team to stick together, or lose together.

Really? I get the impression they’re sad, angry, insecure people who want everyone to be as miserable as they are, even if it means sabotaging the game.

That is what ignore is for. Or even better point out how messed up they themselves are and prove them wrong. If your only answer is to not run the content, you are only depriving yourself and not hurting anyone.

But hey you do what you like.

Did you make sure to link dps meters?

Well, I guess you can look at it that way. Usually they’ll stop whining if the team starts pulling through and stay quiet the whole match. That’s really the only way to quell the toxic players.

I got that impression from two of the players for certain.
Took about 20 seconds tops once the gates opened to see that I had made a mistake in going into a BG again.
Personally I can take abuse aimed in my direction. I only end up dishing out some rabies on someone when theyre going at someone for no reason. Seems like it was nearly ever BG I ran before that it was going on, which was why I quit.
I really want that Mog set in Dalaran, but nothing is worth putting up with that crap again.

Unfortunately, most of the time when this happens, the team never rallies, because everyone gets too distracted by the drama. When someone starts running their mouth, especially early in the match, it’s usually an automatic loss and people seem to check out.

Welcome to 2005 (seriously, this is nothing new).

I had a resto shaman call me trash for not protecting him well enough despite him running away from the flag I was protecting in BoG. The flag had already been sneak capped once and I wasn’t going to let that happen again.

This is why my ignore list is large and if toxic enough, I simply report them. More people should do the same.

my list is getting pretty long. I hope its not got too small a limit.

Did you just start playing this game?

I get so frustrated with the unexpected anger and hostility…and that’s just in games that we are winning. Lol.
