I keep trying to find Blizzards standard pyramid on suspensions/bans. I had read forums that said it goes 1 day ,3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 Month, 2 Months, 3 months, 6 Months, 1 year, permabanned.
Other forums say permabanning is only for people who bot or use a GM Item or alter the game in some way. But I can’t find a definite answer or any official statements on it from Blizzard.

There is no official statement. It depends on the infraction/number of penalties people have gotten/timeframe of those prior actions.

it’s more like a dartboard depending on what gm, if any, reviews you.

If they set up a set pyramid like that. Then people would push the envelope. “Oh I can afford a week ban.”
This way, bad behavers don’t know the consequences. People who act badly, rebel against any kind of authority “You can’t tell me what to do”, actually LIKE poking the bear. If they KNEW that offence 3 was only “X long” they’d just keep doing it falling short of permabanning.

They got rid of the punishment pyramid

From what was said on the CS Forums, it was changed a little. They penalty Volcano is sorta still there, but it’s up to the discretion of the GM. I have seen people get a 7 day suspension for being really nasty or repeated violations.
If you got questions, ask there, I’m sure a blue will answer it.

If they did that wouldn’t they just accidentally get permabanned over a minor offense they didn’t expect? Lol
Unlikely, but if it did happen, that’s what the appeal ticket is for.
Correct. There is no published policy in place. While Blizzard does try to give warnings, they don’t have to.
Depending on the nature of the infraction, the history on the account, and the time between infractions, the GMs have leeway to apply penalties as needed.
It can be generally said, that more infractions leads to a longer penalty each time - but that there is not a standardized path. They can go from zero to perma ban if they need to based on the infraction.
Further, over time the policies the GMs follow changes so things are not set in stone.
For forums I would agree, in game… not so much.
Thought this topic was going to be about WoW pyramid schemes.

Been my experience and oh boy let me tell you there is absolutely no one on the other side reviewing your case

I must not have explained that very well. I’m saying that IF they had set rules 1 day, 1 week, 1 month… Then the “troublemakers” would be able to predict and act out without worrying about being permabanned. But anyway. I’m over this conversation. It’s ridic.

basically its a gamble based on the mod’s feelings on that particular day.
interesting.

I would worry less about the pyramid and more about just not getting infractions. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot play this game in a manner that doesn’t break the ToS. You want to swear, scream into the wind in your basement where only your parents can hear you.

It’s not the type of thing they like to give people specifics on, as that’d allow players to more easily skirt receiving punishments, as a few particular are already doing.

If WoW banned all their pyramid schemes, how would they make money?
It also decays, so if you go long enough you drop down the “pryamid”.
