Why do blizzard keeps making balance druid into a RNG class with same old boring playstyle? Just curious as to who thought of this tier set is good while balance druid already have the same skill in their balance tree. Also, a 20% dmg increase seems like the same old tier set just +10% but now its a 20% but only works with the debuff active which is an RNG proc. Seems like some lazy work because RNG = LAZY WORK when someone doesn’t want to put in the work and they just wrote something and put a dice roll with 6 sides behind it.
Why do balance druid still have to dot all the mobs before they can start their boring rotation? When every classes out there don’t even use this old method anymore.
Why Why Why…Spam Spam Spam wrath wrath wrath starsurge yay I finished the rotation. That is very boring and basically 2 button Demon hunter. Same as eating the same sandwich everyday for a year. Not saying some wont mind.
Season 1 balance druid tier set was horrible and it was bugged WHOLE season and falling at the bottom of the raid chart. The astral power gain didn’t work so I assume the dmg increase probably didn’t work either.
What about EMPOWERED SKILLS? Some class already got them so why not implement this new whole Empowered skills to other classes as well. Maybe so many cast of boring wrath or starfire empowers Starsurge or Starfall dmg with some better visual?
Why couldn’t the 2 pc for Drop an empowered mushroom different from the class tree that latched onto enemy and does poison dmg and increase dmg taken?
Maybe 4pc = While Murshroom is latched on. Any cast will empowered it to explode for more flat dmg and bigger poison dmg debuff?
People really stop thinking nowadays so here we are stuck with the same dot playstyle and our tier is basically old tier set being buff and used old talent. Even the hots is looking better bad for resto druid raid.
Maybe focused more on the classes and raid/dungeons instead of wow housing/creating pets for cash shop every update. It’s just another money grab system like kroean games. Which is a horrible idea. Wont be surprised if this is flagged and remove because the truth hurts.
I agree about the RNG part, but I think we should be able to lean better into single target caster-spender or AoE multidotting playstyles via talents. The 11.0.5 Balance tree changes and the 11.1 general Druid talent tree changes are pretty great IMO, but we could see some more. Personally, the closer I can emulate BfA Boomkin, the happier I will be. I know that is a fringe favorite, though. My point is, we should have a focus on build diversity but also more on ‘weight’ or ‘impact’ of casting spells, agency to determine which ability is required at every GCD for the situation – as opposed to having to rely on Procs. While we’re at it, I still think we could use some survivability buffs, both for open world / Delving content and PvP.
LoL Starfall is horrible in terms of dmg when you compared it to other classes aoe dmg. People don’t really see the dmg because 3k+ io M+ group runs 2 dps 1 aug and 1 tank so its 2 dps fighting for dmg most of the time. But if its 3 dps fighting for dmg. The balance druid is always at the bottom in most pugged.
There is a reason I said “feels like” because literally causing the stars to fall on people’s heads feeling freaking amazing, even if the damage numbers don’t reflect the impact of a start falling on someone’s face.
Not going to lie, I enjoy the set bonus for PvP. I can’t wait to get 4 set for the extra damage. But being able to slow targets is something balance has needed since they did away with MoP force of nature treant roots. And the proc happens so much. Yeah I’m tired of RNG, but mehh nothing we can do until Blizzard makes the right changes to allow us to do the damage ourselves.
The problem with boomy isn’t the damage. The rotation is incredibly simplistic and lacks depth. Other than min maxing starlord stacks there really isn’t much room for dps optimization that is unique to the spec.
Another problem with the rotation is that it’s not very satisfying. When you cast extra casts of starfall it doesn’t even feel like anything is happening. I think a problem is that so much of boomy’s damage is in dots that it means the chunky hitting spells like wrath, starfire, and starsurge have to be tuned very low. Even if details is showing big damage, it just never feels like you are.
This isnt necessarily a bad thing though. Boomie specializes in spread cleave. The other side of that coin is, Feral specializes in a focus tunnel.
To each their own. I do enjoy Ferals meaty Bites, but when playing Boomie, i also enjoy the fact im contributing on all mobs with all my DoTs and massive AoE.
