WoW Anniversary mount

I’m thinking it will be more around the 100%.

Main reason is Blizzcon may either have news that excites everyone or really tees people off.

Not sure they’d wanna pull something like lower the Anniv mount drop rate before seeing how we all react to any announcements next few days.

Past experiences tells me that if it sounds like a terrible idea, then that is exactly what they are going to do. I’m pleasantly surprised when they actually don’t take this approach.

If it must be one, the latter.

Its a birthday of sorts. All should get a present for the sub paid (or yeah tokens…someone else jsut paid the irl money lol).

For a “why not both” option…2 mounts.

One the you logged in reward, here is the mount.

And the other one can be .1% drop for those who are that motivated.

I’m just hoping whatever it is it’s good for everyone.

By that meaning all announcements and the Anniv.

So am I. I just try not to have any expectations.

The mounts everyone have are never used, while Invincible etc, are used. On some level most people want to stand out a bit, and mounts are a great way to do that. Nowadays mounts are so common I find myself using mounts from earlier Xpacs more than new ones. When they actually meant something

For me it’s not so much about standing out. It takes a lot of time and effort to get mounts like Invincible, so you better believe I’m gonna find a use for them after putting in the time. I like using rare stuff, or something that looks cool to me, but it’s for my own personal enjoyment.

I got that weird flying disc from mythic soleah. I didn’t put forth the effort but I liked the way it looks on my casters.

They want rare mounts that they can get easily and the moment the event is over it better not ever come back. Ever.

Man idc about the mount I just want more of those anniversary balloons to spam in Orgrimmar.

Completely depends on the mount itself. In a perfect world the store mounts are the kind of mounts I’d be fine having a really low drop chance. But with a lot of mounts it’s about how hard the mounts were to get, like I use lucid nightmare 24/7 because it took me awhile to get. But you’ll never see me on some anima or gold sink mount.

It’s a recolour of the Worldbreaker mount which I guess was inevitable.
Personally, I prefer the original.

Not to be greedy, but I hope there’s more fanfare than just the mount. Throw some new shirts at us, at least!

I only like it if no one else has it. I specifically seek out mounts that are extremely hard to get, and for the most part I have several I’m proud of.

Time-Lost Proto, Voidtalon, ZG Tiger, Brewfest Ram, Solar Spirehawk are my favorites because of how rare they are.

Uniqueness is everything to me.

However, I have an identical twin brother IRL. I’ve always strived to be different as a result.

My goals aren’t the same as everyone else’s. Life is different, etc.

Some people just want to ‘fit in’ and don’t mind having something tons of other people have- in fact, they might like it more for that reason.

The thing about wow and its mounts, the rarer, limited time, or harder to obtain mounts have usually been the most desirable due to their uniqueness. They tend to stand out. So people try harder or participate for it.

It doesn’t have to be pretty or flashy… but it gains a reputation among players for what it is.

This is why I will always believe it’s good to have mounts and pets in the game that aren’t just given out to everyone.

I may not agree with you but I definitely respect you for admitting your preferences!

I just use whatever mount fits my character - I don’t even think about rarity. Unless I’m hunting a mount, then I may curse it. There’s enough mounts in game that you rarely see the same ones anyway, besides certain ones like the mammoth.

DEFINITELY enjoy having rare mounts not many people have! But also in events like this that may be one and done or once at year at BEST it’s kinda… I dunno to have a low drop rate.

I think it would be appropriate for event mounts to be bought with currency you get from participation as a sort of bad luck protection. Then you might get the mount and if you don’t get the drop you can get it with currency you were gathering in your attempts.

Then they might have to make new mounts for events each year to keep folks coming back though and god forbid

I’d rather not have another reskin of an ugly dragon. Couldn’t they do a different model?
