Wow and launcher on ipv6 only network?

My ISP is about to remove dual stack IPV4/6 and move to all IPV6 in the coming months.

How do I get the launcher and WoW to work in an IPV6 only situation?

The ISP supports access to IPV4 destinations, but only by name (not IP address).

Currently - the launcher and WoW just can’t connect.

Note that I will still have IPv4 enabled on the local network.

You don’t need to do a thing

Here is what they posted back on IPv6 day. replace the - with . since I can’t post links

WoW supports IPV6, there’s an option to select it on the System -> Network settings tab. But if your local network is still going to be IPV4 only then that setting may not matter, since your router will be translating for you.

I turned on IPV6 on my local network so both are available, and even after selecting the IPV6 option in WoW and restarting the game according to the Game Menu WoW is choosing to use IPV4 anyway.

Edited to add: These threads show that there may be some issues with IPV6 support at the moment:

From Telstra’s press release 2 days ago. You should have nothing to worry about. You can still use IPV4 on your internal network and your modem will do the translation to IPV6.

"The Telstra.internet APN, which is employed by a number of mobile broadband dongles and modems, will remain dual-stack.

Those devices that are manually or by default configured for dual-stack support will be affected by the transition, which should be transparent to end users, according to Telstra. The telco will employ DNS64/NAT64 for access to IPv4-only websites.

The Telstra network will continue to support both IPv4 and IPv6 for the foreseeable future,”

I checked - I’m on telstra.wap.
I also tested by checking it to ipv6 only - and the launcher and WoW did not work.
