When 11.2.7 came out, Titan Panel reset a lot of its configuration for me and wouldn’t show some panels. I am currently using ChocolateBar but I see that Titan Panel has had some updates. Will probably switch back since there isn’t a good broker display for how many bag slots that I am using.
Yep… I use quite a few information addons because Blizzard’s UI is lacking. They are all up to date and my UI doesn’t throw any errors. The curseforge ui is pretty bulky and I don’t know how to take a scrolling screenshot on Windows.
Not the person you asked, but I can provide my perspective.
For me addons aren’t as much about showing “missing information” as it is about filtering the useful information from all the noise.
I mostly PvP, so that’s the lense that addons will be analyzed from. The most useful addons for that is making important buffs and debuffs bigger/more visible, and non important ones small or invisible. In a bg or arena match I don’t care that the enemy priest has arcane int, fortitude, mark of the wild, and 8 other passive buffs that are always there, I need to know that my teammate silenced him, or that he popped pain suppression. That is very very hard to see in the base UI, there are so many meaningless buffs and debuffs that are all prioritized equally in the UI.
The only addon I can think of that actually provides new information is capping. It shows you which team will currently win in a bg with the current node control, i.e. AB or BFG, and it will show you how long after a node is capped till points start rolling in.
I have my own issues concerning addons and pvp. There are things that should not be made visible/known unless you were there.
Tracking everyones kicks, ally and enemy alike, their CDs, when they got pressed and how long theyre up, etc etc.
No one is capable of mentally tracking 16 cooldowns on separate timers. Im a firm believer that that stuff should be openly communicated between members.
Instead of seeing a tracker besides enemy nameframes, someone should have to notice. “Hey healer popped trinket! Pressure on!”
I mean i know some things are obvious (Avatar, Wings, Shield). But i dont think the countdown timer should be visible to non-party members…or even party members honestly. Should require some communication
Im not saying its wrong…i just dislike how all the information for everything is present. Thats whats kept me away from participating in pvp
I agree. I don’t use any of those “tracking” addons. The one’s I use just change which buffs/debuffs are most visible. Filters out the trash ones.
Personally I’m glad they are removing all those, I’ve never played with them even tho I know it’s a disadvantage, I just don’t think it’d be as much fun, it removes some of the reactive and situational decisions needed, it makes it all more scripted. And I don’t push glad or any super high rating so meh don’t care too much on the competitive disadvantage.
This is the main issue, and why I use any addons to make certain buffs more visible. The buffs are there in the base UI, it’s just buried in a list of 14 other non important buffs.
I think things like wings or combustion are perfect, those just take a player to have their eyes open and be paying attention to know they need to react. Alot of cooldowns are very subtle if not invisible entirely though, and that’s not ideal.
