Anybody else hoping for a hard reset into WoW 2 after Shadowlands. If anytime was the right time, it would be now.
There are so many loose ends storywise, WoW is running on an outdated engine, and Blizzard has been drowning in controversy lately. I think Zoval would be just the thing we need to “unmake reality” and usher in a new universe that takes WoW back to many of the things that make the game great without worrying about all the ridiculous baggage that we’ve entangled ourselves in over the last 2-4 expansions.
That’s basically all they have to do for a WoW 2. Only things players can keep is what they can fit in their bags. Only mounts they can keep are the ones they paid for PLUS a special achieve one gets for defeating certain bosses in WoW 1 that would give them a title like ‘Conqueror of Warcraft’ and a reward that allows them to take 25 mounts into WoW 2.
Mounts are the main issue for a lot of people. Think about it like this… if you have multiple characters and all of them get 25 mounts to carry over, a lot of those mounts are account bound… I think that fixes the mount issues with a WoW 2 from a non-technical standpoint. Me personally, I only use 2-3 mounts per character so I’m fine with less mounts.
It would definitely be nice to have some legacy items that can be carried over or unlocked for wow veterans, but at the same time, they’d need to be new models to fit the updated engine.
The possibilities would be exciting to spitball. I’d imagine how Kefka from Final Fantasy VI recreated the world to his specs and how impactful that felt seeing enough things that were familiar but also twisted too.
Naw, every MMO has rogues. I’m sure they’ll survive. The only issue I could think of is if they made stealth temporary and not permanent (I think that’s how it was in guild wars 2 and ff xiv).
If you’d leveled alts instead of collecting mounts then it likely would since most are account bound which would make that 25 per character… well, it’s make it 400 mounts for me unless they are not account bound.
