WoW 2 Please

I know it probably won’t happen but I honestly think it’d be awesome, updated graphics and a fresh start without all the useless content from old expansions and integrated proximity chat maybe, What do you guys think?

Why do you think that, you know nothing about wow 2 lol

They are still making bank off of WoW, why invest the money in a whole new game?

I think your idea is bad and you should feel bad.

I don’t think it would ever be called WoW 2. If anything they’d have a cataclysmic reset with whatever they’re doing at the end of the World Soul trilogy and have a universal rebirth in a new engine. I don’t think they’ll ever call it World of Warcraft 2, though.

You are right, what was I thinking…I’m so stupid just like daddy said I would always be.

So start a “gofundme”.

I already have, it’s called my WoW subscription and the in-game shop

They’d be killing a guaranteed multi-million dollar monthly revenue stream on an offchance that they’d bring new MMO players (which current mood towards paid MMOs has never been lower as far as I can see) in and maybe get some of the current 20+ year players to buy more cash shop items. Just think about if you would ever perform that set of actions.

Who hurt you

I would, however I have never been accused of being smart.

Yea they should just scrap all the stuff they made over the years

That’s a good idea

Finally, someone who gets it

WoW needs a reset for sure.

Thanks Wilson

Nobody. Trashing 20 years of a game for “better graphics” or because someone thinks it’s going to capture the same lightning in a bottle wow did all those years ago is delusional at best. It’s a bad idea.

I’m not keen on the idea of giving up everything I’ve gotten on my account. I know one day it’ll all be gone anyway but not dropping it for a new game.

The actual game engine could use a refresher, though. Blizzard’s play would be to NOT call it WoW 2 but have a universal rebirth using the same accounts/data but on a different engine.

I mean maybe, if they could do it right and not lose all our stuff lol. I don’t have much faith in that though.

I spent my entire career as a software engineer and spent plenty of time working on old software. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people call for rewrites. Problem is, people don’t understand how expensive that is.

You would need a development team at least the size of the one they already have which means you would probably see several years with no new content at all while the current team wrote the new software.

I believe this happened with one of the Final Fantasy systems, it came out, failed, was rewritten and then finally worked. During that development time was the old game there for people to play? If so were there content updates?
