Personally I think it would work, but I much prefer if cut content was added in, giving us more to do. Such as introducing the Ogre continent, giving the horde and alliance capital cities, etc.
TBH WoD had some really cool stuff and had good vibes all around.
Just a lack of raids and garrisons ruining professions and capitol cities for an entire expac were the problem. Those are fixable problems, with effort.
WoD might be a good candidate for back-porting M+ too.
To be fair MoP is pretty good. Its considered the high point of the game by a lot of people i know, particularily PvPers.
But yeah i doubt WoD classic will be a thing. Its both a failed experiment and unfinished mess. Blizz themselves gave up on it midway to focus on Legion.
Making a “classic” version of something like that would be weird.
If they keep Classic going its going to jump straight to Legion. They just need to cobble a small recap cinematic to explain why Gul’dan matters for parts of Legion and why Garrosh is dead.
WoD’s lore besides that doesn’t really matter either cause lol-timetravel/alternate universe.
