Two of the best warriors ive met in game where gnomes, one a tank and one dps. If people want to think gnomes are bad for some reason then you don’t want to run with that person anyway…because they are stupid.

Nothing strange about it. Gnomes are the strongest choice for Alliance PvP Warrior, followed by Dwarf.
Like many of the top end guilds, it’s entirely feasibly that they’re primarily PvEing for the sole purpose of gearing out to PvP.

Frankly, seeing a little 2 foot tall guy in full plate charge in and attack a 30 foot tall demon is just hilarious so I’m all for it.

You know, that would have been awesome if gnomes had a racial for an extra 3% threat generation.
OP, the best part about gnome tanks is that the rest of the group can see what’s going on. Unlike a Tauren.

The idea of a Gnome tank is always so hilarious and awesome to me and I never regret doing it. If you can tank, you can tank. The people saying Gnomes “can’t” tank are talking out of their butts.

No. Which is one reason I play Horde. Gnomes are creepy and gross little things, and a gnome tank looks ridiculous. Best to play Horde so you don’t have to look at them.

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful responses and honesty. I’ve thought about this for 3 days and deleted my NE warrior and Human warrior to make slots for 2 x Gnomes now, one warrior and one mage. I felt reluctant to delete my Night Elf warrior with his Black smith(practically took 3 x alts with mining to level the blacksmith) but I feel very certain I’ve done the right thing.
They are not the shy gnomes though like everyone thinks but the Vicious kinds! LOL
NIght Elf warrior is incredibly strong in battlegrounds. World PvP is too unreliable to make use of shadowmeld unless you have a specific ganking spot you’re trying to control, but in BGs it is absolutely nasty to get charged by an arms warrior out of nowhere. One of warrior’s biggest weaknesses is being put into combat early so you can’t charge. In battlegrounds, night elves have the best odds of being able to start a fight on their terms.
Dwarf really isn’t as good as you think it is for warrior. Stoneform is only really strong against rogues which warriors have no problem with in the first place. The primary use of Stoneform in PvP is to break Blind or clear crippling poison, this is a lot stronger on other classes than it is on warriors. The logic here is good rogues are never going to be targeting warriors, you’re in suicide mode standing toe to toe with a class that punishes you anytime you dodge and is in a PvP gear set comprised mostly of plate. Rogues are going to be on your squishies, there is way more value having Stoneform on, say, a Priest or a Hunter.
Gnome is great but as a warrior you should start any fight by popping a FAP anyway. Escape Artist is only going to be useful if the fight lasts longer than 30 seconds. If you aren’t popping a FAP immediately upon seeing action break out, you’re already playing warrior wrong. Gnome’s racial is literally replaced by a potion that costs a few silver to make with mats that can be farmed in Westfall.
You also grossly underestimate Perception. It was always considered one of the strongest BG/arena racials in the entire game. It’s zone denial for stealthers for a full 20 seconds. It pairs great with warrior which is a class designed to counter rogues.

Nah if you like the way the gnome warrior looks go for it. Escape Artist is pretty good if used at the right moment in PvP. Warriors are potentially to be rooted and slowed all the time in PvP. In the end of the day you’re playing a visual game so it’s important what you play looks good to you. It’ll all be worth it in the end.
