I don’t think you’d really have a choice. Even against an Old God like N’zoth where the threat is almost entirely mental, you’d be screwed. You don’t have magic protections against it. You’d go insane the second you refused, at best, I’d imagine.
What magic protection on earth do we have? I would like to know because my home is haunted with boogons.
No because apparently when an Old God actually is able to do that, he just gets meme beamed by a scottish rock and his robot mom.

probably, its better evidence for a god than anything else i’ve seen. even if its not a “real” god, its still a cosmic being of power on a scale that makes ours absolutely laughable. if anything deserves to rule the world i’d be banking on that… besides, its likely gonna happen anyways, may as well get on board early and start adjusting to the extra tentacles.
Hmmmmmm… My response would have to be…
“Nah, I already have a god and last I checked they don’t take too kindly to other gods. You should probably go.”
